Has anyone here got a favourite scene from a film, whether it be a love story, an action adventure or a horror etc.

Mine's from a film most people here have probably seen, and that's "Blade Runner."

The bit I love, is where Harrison Fords character is examining a photograph and zooms into the mirror in order to focus on someone behind the wall, it was so well done.

Phoebe Cates taking off her bikini top in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Raging Bull.
Boxing scenes.
All the spattering blood and flash lights from old-style cameras.

So many good ones.

And for so many different reasons! Acting, script, editing, mis en scene.

OK, here's just one.

DO THE RIGHT THING by Spike Lee (1989)

The scene where all these characters are spouting off ethic stereotype labels and the DJ cuts in and say COOL OUT. YA NEED TA COOL THAT SHIT OUT! or something like that.

Or how about Rosie Perez dancing to the song of FIGHT THE POWER at the beginning? Good shit if you ask me.

Grapes of Wrath?

yes. And Ma Joad at the end.

How about Kazan's EAST OF EDEN....

"Where did you get that scar Father?"

(both are Steinbeck)

Good Fellas
'Funny how?'
Joe's superb throughout the entire movie.

Pulp Fiction

The guys just got done cleaning the blood spattered car and were showing Wolf what a great job they did.

Wolf: "Lets not start sucking each other's dicks quite yet."

Rodney Dangerfield at the end of Caddyshack.......

" Hey everybody, we're all gonna get laid !!!"

Linda Lovelace.
DEEP THROAT---thought this was not possible,sure changed my life,, look at me know on Lit..not that i'm deep throating or anything ,,it's the erotic ,perv ,factor,{needed to clarify before I got jumped on or worse yet throated}

I love the convo between Sarah and the worm in Labyrinth...

Worm: 'Ello.
Sarah: Did you say Hello?
Worm: No, I said 'Ello, but that's close enough.
Sarah: You're a worm, aren't you?
Worm: Yeah, that's right.
Sarah: Do you know the way through this Labyrinth?
Worm: Me? No, I'm just a worm.
Sarah: Oh.
Worm: Come inside and meet the Mrs.
Sarah: No, thank you. But I have to solve this Labyrinth. There aren't any turns or openings, it just goes on and on.
Worm: It's full of openings, it's just you ain't seen 'em.
Sarah: Where are they?
Worm: There's one right in front of you.
Sarah: No, there isn't.
Worm: Come inside and have a nice cup of tea.
Sarah: But there isn't an opening.
Worm: Of course there is. Try walking through it, you'll see what I mean.
Sarah: What?
Worm: Go on, then.
Sarah: That's just a wall, there's no way through.
Worm: Things aren't always what they seem in this place, so you can't take anything for granted.
(She tries it and realizes that she can walk through the wall.)
Sarah: Hey!
Worm: Hey! Hang on!
Sarah: Thank you. That was incredibly helpful.
Worm: But don't go that way!
Sarah: What was that?
Worm: Don't go that way. Never go that way!
Sarah: Oh! Thanks! (Turns and goes the opposite direction into the wall.)
Worm: If she had kept on going down that way, she'd have gone straight to that castle.

And of course the whole story of the film (for those that don't know it) is that Sarah gets to the castle in the centre of the labyrinth to confront the goblin king and retrieve her little brother...

:D

Coolio - let's go:

Usual Suspects - Well, duh. Coffee cup hits the ground...

Shawshank - Not the warden's moment of comprehension, though that's beautiful, but the long soliliquy by Morgan Freeman (best actor in the world!) at the end. "I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope." Goddamn I love that movie.

Field of Dreams - "Hey dad...you wanna have a catch?" I'm a softy for the purity of baseball.

Sex Lies & Videotape (favorite flick) - The very last line -
Andie MacDowell: "I think it's going to rain."
James Spader:"It is raining".
Love that movie. Makes me remember Baton Rouge.

Wallace & Gromit - "Cracking good toast, Gromit." :)

Amelie - When she finds out the what's up with the photobooth guy before her secret beau does. The look on her face is perfect.
