"Boy the way Glenn Miller played.
Songs that made the hit parade,
Guys like us,we had it made.
Those were the days.
And you knew who you were then.
Girls were girls and men were men.
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.
Didnt need no welfare states.
Everybody pulled his weight.
Gee our old Lasalle ran great.
Those were the days"

"Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down a road and back again
Your heart is true,
You're a pal and a confidant

...

And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see the biggest gift would be from me
And the card attached would say

...

Thank you for being a friend."

"Lifetime" network still shows "Golden Girls" on a daily basis!

Heard of them, never heard anything by them though.
(Well, unless you count that "start me up" song they made a couple years ago, that got sold to microsoft. I only heard it 'cause it was on the commercials all the time)

Okay, now this one I know.
I always liked that show. (Especially Sophia! She was funny as hell!)

Re: Geez... you ARE young!

Hey, I'm not THAT young!
I'm age-impaired! We have to be politically correct, you know!

I am saddened by my generation's lack of knowledge of the classics. :D

Since the immortal Golden Girls has already been chosen I'm going with the next best thing...The Andy Griffith Show. I will now attempt to type the theme...

"Doo doo doo
dooooo doo doo doo
dooooo doo doo doo
doo doo doo doo doo
doo doo doo
dooooo doo doo doo
dooooo doo doo doo
doo doo doo"

Long live Don Knotts!

I suppose I'll retract my earlier remark. You've scored with the Golden Girls. Extra points for the Sophia love. :D

Much love.

whoo hoo!
I got extra points!
Though I don't really appreciate the implication that I'd score with the golden girls... they've got like 40 years on me...;)

Just so I'm not hijacking this thread and filling it with my usual meaningless drivel, how about:

Mama's Family!
That was a good show!

Mama's Family! 10 pts. Although, the theme escapes me. Was there a theme? There had to be a theme? Damn, now it's going to drive me nuts! Help!

Lolli

Don't look at me, I just remember that raspy voice from the show!
I was just a kid back then!
hehehe

Truly Outrageous!

Also...Jem & the Holograms.

So, they aren't what most people would call "classic". Nothing beats 80's cartoons.

"Jem, Jem is excitement (ooh Jem).
Jem is adventure (ooohh hoo).
Glamour and glitter, fashion and fame,
Jem, Jem is truly outrageous
Truly truly truly outrageous (oh Jem).
Jem, the music's contagious (outrageous).
Jem is my name...no one else is the same
Jem is my name!

We are the Misfits, our songs are better.
We are the Misfits, the Misfits, and we're gonna get her

Jem, Jem the music's contagious (outrageous)
Jem is my name...no one else is the same
Jem is my name
JEM!"

LOLLI!

K, I always despised this show, but everybody else that I knew loved it, so I'll mention it here.
How about

"Little House on the Prairie"?

Ugh.
*shudder*

Mad About You

"Tell me why,
I love you like I do,
Tell me who,
Can stop my heart as much as you,
Tell me all your secrets,
and I'll tell you most of mine,
They say nobody's perfect,
Well, that's really true this time,
I don't have all the answers,
I don't have a plan,
All I have is you,
So darling, help me understand

(What we do) you can whisper in my ear,
(Where we go) who knows what happens after here,
Let's take each other's hand,
As we jump into the Final Frontier,
I'm mad about you baby,
I'm Mad About You."

(Final Frontier) written by Paul Reiser:rose:

Mad About the Little House on You

Blaze, I must join in your shudder. Little House on the Prairie bit the dust. Now, Highway to Heaven. That was Michael Landon at his best.

Also, I always thought that "Mad About You" by Belinda Carlisle would have been a much more fitting theme for that show.

Oooh. Fresh Prince of Bel Aire. I won't even attempt to type the theme here. Too long. Too cool.

Lolli

Just showing my age here...

The Theme From Peter Gunn.

(This was the very first TV show Theme song to make it to Billboard's Top Ten in the Pop category. And yes, I am old enough to remember both the show and the music -- it's an instrumental piece.)

Younger viewers may remember the Mission Impossible theme as well.

Fresh Prince rocked!
Too bad it had to end...

Mission Impossible doesn't count, we're looking at shows, not movies!
(Or was that a show at some point too? If so, then I guess I'M the one who's showing his age...)
Speaking of movie/shows, I've only seen the movie version, but how about "Charlie's Angels"?
I heard that was once a tv show!

Blaze

Sniffle

For sure.

And now the little Prince is all grown up. Oscar nominations and everything. I'm so proud. *tear*

While we've gotten into early 90's...the other 2/3 of The Trinity = Family Matters and Full House. Rock the cashbah.

Welcome Back Kotter and Twilight Zone for all the old school fans still out there.

Yes, my child...Mission Impossible was once a tv show. :D

Sadly, Charlie's Angels wasn't a very good show and it was an okay movie.
