Favorite Live Album

Been done before? So what.

Simon and Garfunkel, The Concert in Central Park

Good choice...Frampton: Live was always one of my favorites as well.

Yes, Bob. I need to get that one on CD. Used to have the life-size poster of Mr. Frampton that came with the album above my bed in my hormonally-charged youth.

I'm smelling the vinyl. :)

Yeah, that Frampton Live album did have a lot of energy. It was the first one that popped into my head, so it must be the right answer for me...

Oddly enough, I never owned it. It came out during my DJ phase, and between that and the number of friends who bought copies I never scored one myself.

Social Distortion - Live at the Roxy

With the assumption that bootlegs and recording not originally deemed worthy of release are excluded.

3 Personal Faves of a Geezer

Rod Stewart & The Faces:
Overture and Beginners (Cut Across Shorty, Stay With Me)

The Rolling Stones:
Get Your Ya Ya's Out (Carol)
Stripped (Dead Flowers)

hmmmm?

It would have to be Grateful Dead - Live at the Knickerbocker Stadium. It's 3 discs. I love it.

Is that an apple martini, Ruby?

It's not a complete album but I do have several songs from Cibo Matto live at the Metro. Even more noteworthy is the fact that I was at that show!

Well

Frampton.

But Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet band's Nine Tonight is special.

Ok, I should be shot -- and deserve it - but I love Barry Manilow's Live! album. Call me sentimental. And call me a whore (I beat Yayati to it).

Any live stuff by Neil Young & Crazy Horse rules, too. May the feedback REVERBERATE loudly!

I'm not completely sure, but I think I remember by dad having a "Creedence Clearwater Revival: Live at the Boudakan" album when I was a kid. That was one of my favorites...and is very rare.

It's a tie

Four Way Street - CSNY

Live at Fillmore East -Allman Brothers Band

Gotta be Rush's "Exit: Stage Left." Or Nomeansno's "Live and Cuddly" is excellent, too.

Tie

The Greatful Dead, Live Dead 1969

Coltrane Live at Birdland, I'm not sure of the year, '62 or 3.

Frank Zappa

You Can't Do That On Stage Anymore Vol III

edited due to the fact that just like grade school, I still cannot follow directions
