Fast cars are cool. Always have been, always will be. There's an attraction to controlling a powerful machine...

What cool/fast cars have you owned or driven?

What's your dream fast car?

I had a 64 Mustang 2+2 Fastback. Not the fastest, but a load of fun and great looking as well. $2,533 new.

Top speed 208 mph. 0-60 in under 3.8 seconds. 0-186 in 20.4. The SLR McLaren is a milestone automotive achievement, as much for its staggering power and performance as its Formula 1 inspired engineering and design.

"To be sure, the Greatest Car in the World has to be fast, but it should also be able to function as a car. The promise of the SLR is that it is the complete package."

and a slew of really fun motorcycles.

Get a good light dirtbike with a two-cycle engine, get in the woods, and nail the throttle, amazing how fast 25 mph seems when you're dodging trees and trying to hang on as the tires slip and spin. The power to weight ratio is quite impressive leading to wicked acceleration. Plus, its legal!!!!

I have always liked a silver Corvette- I just think it's a super sexy car and it fits my personality :)

I also like a Lotus- have liked those since I saw one in Basic Instinct

My love of cars is second only to my love of men.

The coolest car I ever owned had to be my 1978 Fiat X19. I was restoring it and making several improvements on it... but then I got married and moved and it rusted to a heap at my dad's shop. *sob*

Maybe if I drove on the autobahn more often...
Around here though, that car would just cost me big bucks in speeding tickets. My route to work seems to be crawling with radar traps lately. I've been lucky so far keeping it at 10 mph over the limit. They let me through.

Yeah yeah, but what would you like to drive then? You travel a lot and log some miles...

While I love that, I think the SLR is more functional. I'll look up some details on it and post them later.

I have no idea. Whatever rental car I could get that would keep up and not get me killed by all the BMW's on the autobahn wizzing past me.
