Pretty much. They gerrymandered the holy hell out of their states, which worked well in individual congressional districts.
Statewide Senate races and the Presidency remain a significant challenge, and that's why we have "Block Teh Vote" initiatives to preserve the dying White Patriarchy.

Unfortunately for all would be American fascists, the power players in the centralized autocratic government along with the dictatorial leader are routinely rotated out by democratically held elections.
The severe economic and social regimentation and forcible suppression of opposition in a true fascist state are unencumbered by independently enacted legislation realistically outside the control of the dictatorial leader who traditionally dies of natural causes or is deposed in a coup.
In short, we have a very long way to go before achieving anyone's absurdly alarmist characterization of a fascist state. "Fascist" and "socialist" are simply the labels extremists hurl at each other while affixing their own color-coded name tags.
