It strikes me that the search for a new thrill could lead to a rather slippery slope of debauchery. It seems to me that by the time you reach what you had thought was your limit, you can easily see going beyond that limit. That kind of scares me. Piercing today, mutilation tomorrow.

Perhaps people should draw a limit, not on the exact boundary of comfort--but rather, well within the range of comfort so as not to expand into uncontrolled territory. Not everything in a story will appeal to every reader. Some guys didn't like the gay sex. There was no blood in the story. Did you get the impression that the threat of bleeding was imminent?

I know what you mean. I find it very difficult to read certain theme stories. Now, if I'm reading purely from an analytical perspective, I can appreciate the writing. I don't have to like a story to recognize it's well written.

I have a few online friends into polyamory. I'm into voyuerism. I was experimenting with the themes. I will be revising the text. It's been critiqued. I was pretty fortunate to get a good response when it was featured in the story focused discussion thread.

Well daughter, the sensuality being the strong suit in your writing,(poetry included) I think it forces the memories and immagination to be more actively involved. My body felt the same way it does when anybody starts pointing a knife and making threats, so it seemed real to me. I remember it was bloodless, but it was as you said,imminent threat.
Interesting you should bring up the gay sex. I normally find that boring or disgusting, but this time I just focused on the women's arousal in response to it. What I didn't like about that scene was taking the dick out of the ass (hetero & lesbian anal activity is exciting)& using it somewhere else without showering.It's for disease control purposes, I didn't find it gross, just disturbingly careless .
