is there one near you? do you shop there?
what do you like to buy from there?

eggs, beef, honey, any in season veggies. i love squash and zucchini, the little tomatoes, garlic. OMG. nothing better than organic garlic. and onions. with the new cottage law, i can pick up my breads and jams now. during the market season, i rarely go to the grocery store. i'll be visiting the farms this winter.

i picked up a frozen portion of squirrel stew.
i was too curious to pass it by.
the nice looking man says it's a bit like rabbit.

that sounds interesting. i would eat a squirrel. in a heart beat. never have though.

They grow quite a bit of cotton just north of here, and sell a lot of honey from local apiaries at the farmers market. "cotton honey" tastes a bit...off.

Yes, we have one in nearly every town, burg and intersection large enough to park three cars.

No, I have not shopped at ours for the past few seasons. We grow enough garden produce ourselves.

I used to buy most of my veggies, but growing them is cheaper (if you ignore things like the cost of the land, tractor, tiller, fuel, seed, sand, deer fencing, fertilizer, soap, mouse traps, insect netting, hoses, water (elec for pump) and so on).

There is a large farmers market held every weekend here throughout the summer. It holds various types of vendors, including arts and crafts. It's pretty pricey, so I haven't ever purchased much. The atmosphere is great, though.

The Menonites always have this fantastic food stand where the lines form well around the corner in wait of purchasing their edible delights.

It's game, shroom and berry season. Yesterday I picked up 2 kilos of chanterelles, a kilo each of fresh blueberries and cloudberries, and a slab of stew cut venison from the local square

Squirrel tastes a lot like rat but doesn't have all the evil connotations. My dad taught me how to skin a squirrel when I was about six. Usually I got to hold it up by the hind legs while he skinned and gutted. Pulling the hide over the skull would always turn into a tug-a-war, and we would laugh. Our farmer's market was outside the front door.

I visit the Farmer's Market every week in the summer and autumn. It's right outside my office so I grab what I need on my way home. Usually whatever I don't grow at home. Potatoes, garlic, squash, beans when my crop is gone, purple and red peppers. Flowers for my table are always a must and usually some breads that I don't want to make at home.

Oh yeah! Union Square! :D

Seasonal fresh produce available at the Farmers market 4 miles down the road from me, I shop there weekly.

Yes.
large Amish contingent in my part of the country.

I shop there at least once a month. Fresh cheeses, homemade sausages, farm fresh beef and poultry, fresh eggs, produce of all kinds and the world's best roasted peanuts.

Smoked fish. Not a reseller of some company.Someone that caught themselves and smoked them. Fish dip is wonderful.

Every Summer I see reefer growing in the corn fields to the farm on the South side of my place.
