Tony Jay, co-writer of "Yes Minister"/"Yes Prime Minister", has died at 86.

So many of those sketches are still as topical today as they were 30 years ago. This is one of the best: Jim Hacker's "assistants" from the Civil Service reacting to his plan to reintroduce conscription.

The UK politicians and civil servants of the time winced. Too much of "Yes Minister" was very close to reality - tweaked and slightly overstated a bit for satire - but the people and their interaction were very familiar.

Some people even suggested real people's names for the characters.
