"I am Mr. Roarke. I am your host. Welcome to Fantasy Island!"

I was watching a couple of episodes of Fantasy Island on hulu the other night, and it struck me that this would be a perfect chain story for Lit. I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that this idea has not been done before, to be honest. :p

So here's the basic idea: All stories follow the mold of the TV series: your character or characters arrive on Fantasy Island with the intent of living out a fantasy courtesy of the supernatural talents of Mr. Roarke and his assistant, Tatu. I would think, to avoid having any story placed in the "Celebrities" cat, sexual contact with our hosts should be kept to a minimum. ;)

Any takers? :D

I imagine a tentative posting date for the first episode (mine) around the end of May.

For those who need a refresher on how Mr. Roarke does things, you can watch episodes HERE

I don't think so, Slyc. I'll be writing Branx during May and I still have to keep up with Kismet. Should be a fun one to read, though. :)

Sounds like fun! I used to love watching that show!! I may have to watch an episode or two for a refresher though.

It's a neat idea. I just have no muse these days. I'll add it to the chain story thread on the survivor forum. That might drum up some interest.

Fun idea. Unfortunately, bad timing work-wise for me. Otherwise, I'd take my muse to Fantasy Island and have my way. ;)

Thanks for the response, guys. There's still time for the muses to descend, however. With only one person tentatively on board (thanks, Emerald ;) ), I'll let this idea stew for a bit before tipping the pot.

Not much happening on a saturday night, so i figured I'd beat the dead horse one more time (no offense to the casualty of the Kentucky Derby).

The one thing that always struck me about Fantasy Island was the fact that the majority of the stories were essentially morality plays. I wanted to keep that same sort of feeling with these stories. In other words, a Literotica Fantasy Island story wouldn't be something with the premise of, "I want to have group sex with a bunch of famous supermodels," but more like, "I want to be the kind of guy who could lure famous supermodels into group sex."

The best kinds of stories are those that teach the reader something about the character, and maybe part with a little casual philosophical wisdom. ;)

I see, like the Love Boat. ;)

Been quite a few months since I first proposed this idea. I'd still like to do it, if there is any interest.

Might come in handy for the new batch of Survivors. ;)

:D

I think it would be fun

but each author would have to submit to a coordinator: you? in order to avoid redundant content.....

I'd just about forgotten about this. I suppose the idea could be resurrected, but I don't seem to be the kiss of life to chain stories. The last few I've tried to start have fizzled. I suppose I lack star power. :p

If you get some more authors interested, I am in!

If this chain were to take off again (and I'm assuming the revival of this thread is due to Survivor contestants), each story would be discussed in general scope here on this thread before being submitted, if for no other reason than to waylay parallel submissions.

Although, at present time, I don't have any slated ideas to advance to the chain. Since the last posting date, I've involved myself with other projects. That's not to say I wouldn't be willing to give it another go . . . .

Willie, if I can start a chain, you can; you have way more "star power" than I do! lol.

I'd participate in this if you wanted to get it running again. It's very slightly similar to another chain I was going to propose, but I think there are enough differences that both could operate, especially if this one gets started and I wait a few months for mine. (Mine is a "fantasy fulfillment club", where at each club meeting one person's chosen sexual fantasy is fulfilled by the other members, which isn't really the same as this because Mr. Roarke has magical powers, so ANYTHING could happen in the stories in this chain, while my chain would be constrained by what real people would be capable of doing.)

So anyway, yeah, I'm in on Fantasy Island if you're going to run it :)

I admit I am in the Survivor contest but I have always used my Immunities for it every year after I couldn't get into a Chain Story my first year in Survivor so the second year I attempted to start one, University of Life, and only one of the authors (other than me) that agreed to participate ever turned in a submission.

I saw this idea and thought it would be fun which is why I signed on.

I'll keep an eye out for any further developments.

Let me mull it over.

If I don't restart this chain, it can always be begun by someone else. If there is enough interest, however (which might be more likely since this would be an open-ended chain), then perhaps Mr. Roarke and Tatu can be resurrected.

(no offense to Herve Villachaise)

This looks like fun. Sign me up, coach. I have a story already completed that would adapt quite well to this concept. ;)

Be careful , he might return as a zombie and attack your knees. :D

Oh, all right. Let's give it a whirl. :p

I'll need a couple weeks to come up with my own story, but I do have an idea already brewing. So, let's say . . . April 6th as a tentative first posting date (my story), others to follow every Monday. So . . . .

April 13
April 20
April 27
etc.

(P.s. You think, if I get Tatu laid, his ghost will forgive me?)

Put me down for 20 April. I have one more story to finish.

So many jokes are coursing through my mind...but in deference to the late Herve...I'll refrain from making comments... I'll just keep things short...Whoops...that one slipped out. :D

At least I can sleep well, knowing he'll come after you, then. :p

April 20 it is.
