Fantasy football (American style, wankers!)

Okay, I admit it. I've always wanted to play. I spent a few hours last season blindly staring with wistful and regretful lust at the NFL's fantasy football league.

The thing is, I read the rules like 93 times and never understood it. I just so didn't get it.

And then there was the whole "who can sign up" thing. Apparently you have to have a group of people doing it. If you don't, you can jump in and play with a bunch of strangers.

Now, I sincerely don't mind showing my ass and my ignorance here. All ya'll know me and you can just say, "It's just Muffie." Strangers would get irritated and not in a good way (from my perspective).

I know that you people don't believe me, but I really am shy.

Anyway, it's getting to be about that time again. I love football season!

The point is this. One, how does one actually play this? Two, does anyone want to play this year? Three, does anyone who wants to play mind if someone who has no bloody idea what she's doing, but is really cute and opinionated, play too?

Sorry KM, I would be of not much service to help out. Though I would dare say a couple of Fantasy Football Magazines would help out a bit..........and maybe entering a "rookie" league (not trying to be cocky or rude or anything but serious) would help out some.

Try like a newstand or bookstore (i.e. Books a millions, Barnes and Noble, etc.) and they should have some Fantasy Football mag.'s somewhere that might help out.

Now as far as I know, we're doing an automated draft. There are 14 positions for which we need to have picks for. I believe the choices have to be from active players. We're setting our own scoring, probably to be based more on yardage than on points.

Fantasy Football is basically taking ALL the players from their teams and putting them into one group. As an owner (you) you will pick players for your team (doesnt matter what 'real' team they are on). The 'draft' is automatic and if you dont know what you are doing, it will still try to pick the best player available for you. After you have your 'team' you can trade with other 'owners'. Each week as the 'real' NFL games are played you will get points for your men depending on how they did in real life. You add up the points and that determines what place you are in(for that week). After each week you can trade playters, add new ones (that arent on any team) and switch players in your lineup (some on your team wont count as they are on the 'bench' as extras)

You don't really have to know a whole lot to play and as long as the other players arent sneaky and try and trade a bad player for one of your good ones you'll have fun.

hey guys, raw humor emailed me this morning and requested I tell you he is pulling his players and team from the league. As most of you know he is taking a hiatus from lit and does apologize.

btw:dont take gannon at qb, without Gruden he may really really suck, plus watch out for McNair to have a great season...but thats only my crappy assed opinion
