The sun had begun to set once they made it back to the village.A couple of new recruits were arguing at the gate. One looked nervous.

The more stoic one pointed to his jittery comrade. "Branden here thinks he saw a goblin, but I know they only attack at night. Tell him I'm right."

Al'ika smiled. "Honestly, they only attack at night," she assured the jittery man. "Trust me, I've been fighting goblins since I was your age."

"Keth, why don't you check it out?" Al'ika called down. She smiled. "My companion shouldn't find anything out of order. Tell me, have you ever seen a goblin before?"

"Just the pictures in training," he said as Keth went to investigate. "But I heard some kind of snickering and thought I saw one of their pointed ears." Keth returned, holding a poorly made dagger. "Good work," he said, pounding him on the shoulder reassuringly.

"No idea," Al'ika said. "Issak? Can you get anything out of this?" she asked, holding it out to her brother. She smiled. "You're very observant, Branden."

"I can't but maybe Flish can," he said. "Let's go to the tavern, I think he's picking up some work there."

"Leave it to Flish to do that," Al'ika laughed. She turned to the recruits. "Thank you for informing us, and good observations," she said. "Keep them eyes sharp." She made her way down and headed to the tavern.

When they got to the tavern, they were greeted by the unceremonious tossing of a drunk. Flish wiped his hands off. "What can I get you guys?" he asked.

Al'ika held up the dagger. "Need help with this dagger. One of the recruits got spooked, thought it was a goblin. You're the dagger expert."

Flish headed over to a table to look it over. "Shitty construction, more likely to kill by the rust," he thought. "Probably some low rent bandits,"

"I don't think they're local, or else Isep would have known about them and warned us," he said. "Someone probably hired them."

"Probably," he said. "We really should look for better equipment if we're going to run up against him."

Al'ika nodded. "I'll talk to Edioz and see what he can do," she promised. She looked at the three of them, and saw Jester. "Excuse me, gentlemen," she said softly. She walked over to Jester and sat down next to him. "Got a hypothetical question," she asked softly.

"The Blue magic is designed for sexual pleasure, for either you or your partner," Al'ika said. "Can it be used to cause discomfort for the other?"

"It can," he said. "There are spells in there just as dangerous as that fireball you love so much."
