Al'ika sighed and nuzzled her big brother. "My big brother's growing up, although Issak suspects. He said he walked in on you trying to plan a house."

"Damn, i guess I'm not as sneaky as I thought," he said. "In that case, can you drag him away and see if he can help me?"

Al'ika smiled and kissed his forehead. "I already told him to leave you alone. We all know that Issak listens to me."

Fate wandered in and Jep grew three shades of red. She came to sit at the table. "How is everyone?" she beamed. "Hi, Jep."

Al'ika smiled at her brother. She reached over and squeezed Fate's hand. "Hey honey, how are you?" she asked happily.

"A little better, now that I've talked to Flish," she said. "He really is sorry and he didn't have control," She ordered a pint of stout, and got one for Jep as well. "This is thanks for saving me. I hope it pays well enough."

Al'ika watched her brother carefully, and smiled at Fate. "That's good, I'm glad he's remorseful," she told Fate. "And I'm glad you're doing better."

"He's doing a lot better," she said, taking a sip. "He won't be fencing any time soon but he's stable now."

Al'ika nodded. "Alright," she said. She rubbed Jep's back reassuringly. "So, whenever you're ready to go back, Jep right here knows the routes better than anyone," she mentioned, smiling to herself.

"He may need more help than that," she said. "It was a war zone when I was captured and I don't know how long that will last."

"You don't know Jep that well then," Al'ika said. "It might be a warzone now, but Jep knows all the little known trails. He knows trails even I don't. And he'll fight hard."

"OK," she said. "Once things die down around here, I'll figure things out." she finished her pint and said goodbye." Jep began to panic. "OK, if you're sending me out alone with her, I need those lessons."

"Shh, shh, shh," Al'ika rubbed his back. "Drink your pint. I will teach you, okay? I had done that so she would know who she would be travelling with. She's vulnerable right now."

Al'ika nodded and kissed the top of her brother's head. "You'll be just fine, brother," she said. "I promise you that."

"If you say so," he said, drinking his beer. "Got to go, or I'll really hear it from Issak." he said, returning to harass his brother.

"We'll wait. But for now, let's go home." Al'ika stood up and walked over to her brothers. "This girl's heading home," she told them, kissing their cheeks.

Jep and Issak nodded, and as Al'ika and Keth left, they got very rowdy. "You see Flish like you said?" asked Keth.

"No, I didn't, actually. He's probably awake though," Al'ika said, making her way to the chapel and going into the back. She kissed Flish's forehead. "Hey, there. Heard you were stable."

FLish was sitting up and a lot of his bruises were gone. "Had that special potion," he said, shuddering. "Nasty as hell, but I'm not connected with dad anymore. So I've got that going for me."

"I want to go out and make up for what I did, kick some orcish ass," he said, "Present company excluded. Of course, Father Hallowbrook wants to chain me down until I "gain some common sense", so I think I'll be here a bit."

Al'ika smiled and shook her head. "You can never stay put, can you? Well I've been told that you're nowhere close to fencing shape. I understand, but you need to heal, okay?" She kissed his forehead. "I'm going to go home. I need some sleep, been having trouble."
