She sighed. "If it's for the best, we'll just have to deal wit it," she said, resigned. "I wonder what his last ingredient is."

"I don't want to know," Al'ika groaned. "Keep Keth and Flish happy while I'm unable to, okay?" she asked.

Isep grinned at her. "They're both such good lovers, I don't know if I can make that sacrifice," she said.

"I will not hesitate to dunk you," Al'ika laughed. "Just until I am able. I don't want to drain them because of something I'm doing to save them. I can't save them if they're drained."

"You've got a deal," she said, saluting. "Vagnor seems to be done," she noted, hearing him wandering the lab.

"Well, time for some thrilling heroics," she joked, hearing Vagnor in his lab as well. "Be well, and bring them back soon," she said.

Isep began to dry off and dress as Al'ika returned to the lab. "We need one more ingredient and we're good to go," he said, "We need a minotaur horn."

"Good luck finding that, last time I came across a minotaur was over by Loriena," Al'ika said, raising her eyebrow.

"You and I should go get it," he said, "Your friends will be very safe here and looked after."

She crossed her arms over her armor. "Yeah?" she asked. "Just the two of us? Forgive me, but this just sounds like a recipe for disaster."

"How so?" he asked, "You can fight as well as cast, and I can support you with my own magic."

 

[celestialdragon]

"I always feel better when there's at least one non-magical entity along," she explained. "Keeps me focused, otherwise, there's going to be a lot of forests gone thanks to fire."

 

[bindingeagle]

"I can always get Geoff back," he said, "I know he was kind of a bastard to you, but he gets results and he's loyal to me."

She frowned. "Be that as it may, it would make me feel immensely better if I had someone loyal to me, as well," she said.

"OK, he's out then," he agreed, "Take your pick."

 

[celestialdragon]

"Hmm. . . I'll have to think on that and talk to them when they're here," she said. "But it'll be easy; both of them want to hurt Ashglow."

 

[bindingeagle]

"Go ahead and ask them, Isep should have them here in a few hours," he said. "In the meantime, we can do whatever you want."

She summoned a fireball, and played with it for a few moments, thinking as she watched it move. "What is there to do?" she asked.

"Talk, magic study, relaxation, I'm OK with any of it," he said.

 

[celestialdragon]

"I think a bath is in order," she said. "I haven't had one in a couple of days."

 

[bindingeagle]

"Of course," he said, ordering a fresh one drawn. "I'll leave you alone," He went back to rummaging about, creating all kinds of smoke and explosions.

She undressed and slipped into the tub, smiling as she took the time to really scrub the dirt away, tilting her head back and soaking her hair and getting everything out of that.

Eventually she heard loud discussion from the lab. "No way in hell, she isn't doing that!" she heard Flish yelling.
