Al'ika stopped and beckoned Keth back. "I know who lives here," she whispered. "I should've know. Dammit."

"It's. . . my father," Al'ika growled. "Come on, maybe if we head back he won't realize we're on his land." She began to head back, tossing her red hair over her shoulder.

"Father? That would be a feat, meaning as I was there when his throat was slit!" a cold voice welled from the porch. Flish swaggered out, sword in hand. "You know, when Ashglow sent me to get I'eie, I did it just to see you taken under heel," he said. "Little did I know you were whore enough to sell your cunt out to the biggest orc in the place. And now here we sit, you and me. I don't suppose you've come back to take me in your mouth again?"

Al'ika crouched, motioning for Keth to step back. "You're a bigger asshole than I thought," she growled. "I will never suck you again, and you know it, Flish. I should've known it was you. You're nothing but a foul ijit who needs to have a good time upon a rack." She drew her sword as well. "So is this how it's going to end?"

"Only if you don't take your bipedal pack mule and leave," he said, stepping forward. Otherwise, you may just be back in Xur's dungeon, and I can't wait to be there this time to tear at your nipples until you plead for a good fucking."

"I won't be back in Xur's dungeon. Why don't you run back to your precious Lord and leave us alone?" Al'ika asked. "Besides, Xur's terrified of me, now." She felt her flame shield alight on her arm. "I don't trust you, Flish. So I guess it's a fight to the death."

"I don't know, you've bested me a few times," Al'ika admitted, also circling. "And I ain't a whore, and you know it, Flish." Her green eyes were alight with flames and she set up a fire ring, excluding Keth from the fighting area. Her eyes flicked over to him, giving a reassuring look.

Flish feinted right, then shot left with his rapier and tried to slice into Al'ika's hamstring. "That's what they all say, Orc fucker!" he taunted.

Flish managed to turn his leg and avoid the worst of it, but still received a nice gash for his efforts. Grunting, he tried to stab again but fell over.

Al'ika walked over and stepped on his sword hand and leveled her sword at his throat. " Give me one good reason to let you live," she said.

"Live? I've been chasing after you for years and you go out risking your life, not taking me with you? Ashglow gave me a chance, so go ahead and do it if you've got the balls," he snarled.

Al'ika gave him a final snarl, then reached behind her and stabbed him viciously in the stomach, then again in the groin. Her sword dripped blood. "You'll die in a few minutes, but I plan on burying you before then. Any final words?" she asked.

Flish let out an agonizing shriek. "Fuck you," he said, groaning. He tried crawling away and managed to grab his backpack, spilling its contents on the ground and fumbling for a potion.

Al'ika said a quick spell and fire spread upon Flish's body, flinging his backpack and the potion he tried to get open to her outstretched hand. "Good bye, and good riddance, Flish," she said. She increased the flames.

Flish screamed as he was immolated in the blaze, and finally fell silent. Keth stepped into the dying flame circle and place his hand on Al'ika's shoulder. "He gone now," he said. "Sleep here tonight?"

Al'ika took a deep breath and shook her head. "We need to go back into town," she said. She slung Flish's backpack over her shoulder. "We're not safe here. This place is cursed." She beckoned him to follow her. "Come on, Keth. Let's go back."

Keth looked at her and nodded. They set off back to town, and the guards noticed the blood on her blade. "Report to Mayor Fletcher, he wants a report," they told her.

Al'ika nodded and walked toward the Mayor's house, her blade dragging along the ground. She rapped three times on the Mayor's door.

Al'ika sighed. "Well, Keth realized something wasn't right, so we followed a trail. Turns out Flish had gone turncoat on us and was the one who took I'eie to Ashglow. We fought, he's dead. End of story." She slumped in a chair, her head in her hands. "He took up residence in my father's cabin, and my father's dead. Heavens bless his soul, but the place is cursed now, thanks to Flish." She held up the backpack. "This was Flish's."
