Before leaving the house she made up a small sac of food for in case they got hungry on their walk. "Has father made you work in the field yet? Katherine took her older's hand when she caught how bitter he sounded regarding their father. It was true that he worked him rather hard, but there was a lot to get done before winter came in. With that thought she realized that maybe today might be one of the only chances they would get to sneak off to the lake before it started to get cold ok.

"Alright, well go to the lake. I can see the horses tomorrow after my chores." She smiled at him and soon they were off.

One of the great things and worse things about the new farm was that they had a lot more land. No one else for miles, they could grow even more crops which meant that if the fields did well they stood a chance to make more money. The bad side... the lake was a good 45 minute walk from the house. By the time they got there, Katherine had been over joyed to remove her boots and socks.

Once again she had to ask her brother for help with her corset. Made no sense to get her dress and corset wet so she opted to leave it on the dry grass. The water was still and clear and when she stepped into the water it felt cool and wonderful on her aching toes. She could even make out some fishes swimming around!

As they made their way to the lake he spent time making small talk with her. When they arrived he was caught off guard at how quickly she stripped down.
