We just want to have a sense of fairness. The uniform application of standards and values. The riot at the Capitol is receiving the condemnation it deserves. There is no doubt whatsoever about that.
The riots over the summer did not receive a commensurate level of condemnation.
Although different in scope and scale, they both were anathema to American values.

Looting a Target is in no way shape or form comparable to sacking the United States Capitol, no matter how much you and the snowfrake push that false equivalency.

If you can't see the difference in resisting government tyranny and lack of accountability of public safety officers and trying to overthrow a duly elected President by storming the Capitol and threatening to kill legislators, I feel sorry for you.

First of all, YOU'RE the Snowflake, and second, I was not equating the actions. They both have no place in American society.

If you are on the receiving of the shit what difference does it make?

A hit to the head a gun shot to the torso I can't really see that where it's at matters.

The fact that the Capitol building by decree enjoys special protections and rules because of what it stands for and it's function still should not make the other any less intolerable.

The laws of our great nation simply disagree with you. Therefore, no uniform application no matter how much you believe it ought to be so.

Apparently it needs to be repeated, since some folks here keep missing it:

Riots are BAD! The incidents of violence and property destruction this summer WERE LOUDLY CONDEMNED by pretty much everyone on “the Left. Unscrupulous right wing propaganda purveyors attempted to constantly claim, falsely, that the Democrats supported riots because the support BLM. It’s really simple: peaceful protest=good, violence =bad. People demonstrating about the unjust racism and violence towards Black Americans was absolutely justified and righteous, and even if you disagree with their message or their cause, the US constitution gives them the right to do so.

The 1st amendment does NOT give anyone the right to attack other citizens, law enforcement, members of Congress...etc. It does NOT give anyone the right to threaten or intimidate others, or to attempt acts of vigilante style “justice”. And it sure as fuck does NOT give anyone the right to break into the Capitol Building and attempt to overturn an election, overrule the will of the American People, and install their own personal preferred president by force!

Furthermore, these attempts to deflect and change the subject, and to make false comparisons between the acts of violence this summer (including those perpetrated by right wing extremists!) to the attempted coup we witnessed on January 6th are offensive. There is no comparison whatsoever to be made here! Did anyone here make attempts to deflect from the seriousness of the 9/11 attacks? Would anyone care to play whataboutism with the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Oklahoma City bombing, or the Boston Marathon bombing? The attacks on 1/6 were a disgusting attack on American Democracy. Period.

Well said.

I searched for Joe Biden on MSM decrying civil unrest. I searched for Nancy Pelosi
on the first five minutes of "Today". Crickets. Is Google not my friend? I did see"statements" in writing. A tepid response at best.

And your own response to a terrorist attack on the Capitol Building is even more tepid.

since you seem incapable (quelle surprise): https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...ed-violent-protests-several-times/6576824002/

Though Biden voiced support for protesters’ right to demonstrate, he has consistently condemned violence, including acts linked to activists from Black Lives Matter and antifa, a political movement of far-left militants who oppose neo-Nazis and white supremacists at demonstrations and other events.

Here are five of his statements to that effect last summer.

On May 29, he told CNN that people “have a right to be, in fact, angry and frustrated. And more violence, hurting more people, isn’t going to answer the question."

On May 31, he wrote in a statement on Medium that protesting police brutality is “right and necessary” and “an utterly American response."

“But burning down communities and needless destruction is not,” Biden wrote. “Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not.”

On June 2, in a speech in Philadelphia, recorded by ABC News, Biden said there is "no place for violence, no place for looting or destroying property or burning churches or destroying businesses."

"We need to distinguish between legitimate peaceful protest and opportunistic violent destruction," he said.

On July 28, in a speech in Wilmington, Delaware, he echoed that sentiment, per C-SPAN. “Peaceful protesters should be protected – but arsonists and anarchists should be prosecuted – and local law enforcement can do that," he said.

On Aug. 31, after a man was fatally shot in Portland, Oregon, Biden released a statement on his campaign website with another condemnation of protest-related violence: "The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable," he said. "Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable. I condemn this violence unequivocally. I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right. And I challenge Donald Trump to do the same."

so, instead of just going around mouthing lies (which you probably believe as truths), perhaps look beyond your usual sources of misinformation.

Oh, my. Ramone is whining about fairness again. So unfair, so unfair.

Deplorables are perpetual victims. It's the flip side of being a bully. Ever notice that about bullies? Remember the Charlottesville neo-Nazi who cried on camera after being arrested? Remember the insurrectionist who whined about being put on the no-fly list.

OK, cry it out, bitch. Let those tears flow.
