Arc da Rat said:IMVU??? I already have my hands full w/ WoW ...
I hear you. I'll add a little explanation though, for you and anyone else who's curious.
It's not a game, it's a free chat system akin to Yahoo Chat or MSN Messenger in some ways, very different in others. After a brief learning curve, it only becomes a time- and/or money-eater if you get into character bling (buying pretty add-ons for your 3d cartoon to wear or to live in). I'm finding it's a nice, alternative way to be with Lit friends, as it is, as Batchoohus correctly said once, far less "flat" than the forums. I enjoy being able to give a friend a foot massage as I chit-chat with them. The touching, although cyber, makes you feel closer and more intimate with your friends. In addition, the developers focused heavily on the non-verbal visual cues that the "toons" give off (far more so than any 3d group game does), which also helps surmount the often heavy barrier of text communications. I also enjoy being able to express my personality through the living environements I create ("rooms" is a rough approximation for the wide variety of options they give you in this regard) and through my appearance. I also get to experiment with various new looks, things I'd never try in real life. This one feature is actually similar to what you can do in a game like WoW, but on IMVU it is far more flexible as it is not tied in with skills or stats. I'm considering going "furry" in the near future, but which furry to choose, ah that is a big question!
