Facial hair: What do you women (who are cursed with more than your share) do?

I went today for the eyebrow-wax-rip and am pleased, as always, with the results. But as I was inspecting the job in the mirror a few minutes ago, I noticed TWO evil hairs hanging off my lower lip on the right side. They were not very long but the grip they had caused me to yelp rather forcefully upon their swift removal.

I am only 30! Damn.

Any secrets from those of you who have a tiny bit more experience in this area?

:)

hey:) Blondgirl..nice brows!
don't fret, you did the right thing:) imho do not ever wax your lip..this always results in little pimples/ingrown hairs in my case..i'm only 28 but have high hormone levels..i'm kinda moody:) a little hairy(soft fine downy stuff) and very curvy.

i tweeze my top lip once a month on avg..incidentally, men prolly don't even notice..a male mate of mine is like.."nah never noticed and i look at your mouth a bit, your lips are what men look at sweets, if they're looking at your face at all!"

lol @ ZoeKat!

I used to use Nair, hair facial remover, but i was made to stop. it caused me to break out. I go for a facial and body wax about once a month and tweeze inbetween. Im lucky in the way that I have a friend that comes to my house and does it for half price.

Im so lovable! lol

there's this cream she puts on after, supposidly it helps keep the hair fine. :)

I usually bleach it because my skin is just too sensitive for waxing... There is an Indian method I've heard about that I'm thinking of trying it's called threading... from what I heard it's very acurate & virtually painless...

Whatever you do DON'T shave it!!! That will make it grow in darker and you'll have more of it. If you can handle the wax...do that...if not and you've only got 2...keep using the tweezers :)

That Indian way is called "Threading." I heard it works very well. I have also heard that Electrolosis (ms?) works very well. I'm a makeup artist, and I have seen some women with a real need for some type of hair removal remedy. Waxing and tweezing are my methods... but I wouldn't mind trying the threading or electrolosis. Makeup goes on a ton easier and nicer on a downy free face, but if it's light hair it's not that big of a deal.... but if ya have Mario bros mustache....that could be an issue.

This is kind of embarrassing to be talking about in front of the boys, but what the fuck.

I wax my upper lip. I got away with bleaching for years, but after the birth of my children, the hair came in heavier.

My eyebrows take daily maintenance. I tweeze mostly, although I do have the occasional brow wax if I'm having a spa day. I'd like to get into the habit of getting my brows waxed professionally on a regular basis, but I never have the patience to let them grow in for it.

I mostly wax my legs, although occasionally I say fuck it and start shaving, which is where I'm at now. The thing about shaving my legs that I hate is that I get stubble 12 hours later. At least with waxing your legs stay smooth for days or weeks.

~Sigh~ Hair removal is a constant battle when you're a woman. Don't even get me started on genital hair.

There is now lazer hair removal available which is painless and permanent. I wax my legs and bikini and brows or rather have the salon do them. My skin is too sensitive for razors and besides you have to do it everyday. If I had facial hair to be removed I would use lazer my girlfriend swears it is the best!

This is a myth. What makes the hair grow thicker and darker is maturity. As we get older, we get hairier. Don't believe me? Check out the subcultures among us to see if they are any less hairy for never shaving. (Here, where I live, black women don't shave. Some do--but the majority don't. Many many of the white women don't either. I have never noticed a hispanic or asian woman who had hairy legs though.)

I have considered electrolysis, but the process is extrememly time consuming and requires many many visits. I know a woman who has been going in regularly for years to have it done. My niece had lazering of her bikini line and has been very satisfied wtih the results. It has only been a few months though. I don't think it is offerred on the face.

Yup, it is hormone related. I'm lucky, since I'm blonde so it is less visible.

I was chicken and waited until a few of the rest of you answered first!

No shaving or waxing for me. I've found my eyebrows need very little plucking after years and years of just about daily attention. That's okay, those stray hair on the chin take just as much time now as the eyebrows did before! Tweezers are my weapon of choice.
