i can't believe how much i love this camera. i took a picture of one of our cats, romeo. you can see individual shiny fur. it's so clear and shiny and shows his pretty cattness wonderfully. i have it on our desktop background right now. i don't know if hte webformat will be as good. i'm going to go try to find the most beautiful things i can to take pics of now. i took a few pics of myself earlier not thinking about all the yucky blemishes our other cam didn't show. now i'm al ittle intimidated by the camera., lol.

burning man
burning man looksl ike so much fun and i know a few people who have gone. despite the harsh climate and all the stuff we'd have to bring. i'd be in heaven. i'm wierd like those peopel when i can let loose and i could so easily let loose there. all i'd need is a hat and sunscreen and shoes, oh and a bike probably, one that inira could be on too. it'd be great nd then we'd have tons of water and all that otehr fun stuff we'll need. an arts festival!!! hmm, i'm getting all excited for even teh prospect of someday going. has anyone on here ever been to burning man. i'd be in heaven with all those artists and naked/costumed/glittered people and music.
omg i want to go. i guess i'll have to daydream some more. wow i'm getting a little obsessive, mayhaps i should just put on some music or something. nah, i'm glued to the tv right now. ooh that wuold be a wonderful place to experiment with things i shouldnt experiment with, hehe. can't have inira with us then. we'll have to wait till she's older and can handle being away from us for a week with her grandma and grandpa. i love all these artistic people already, and i've never even met them. wow!oooh oooh i just saw a naked fire dancer! and a weird opera to ishtar. it reminded me of like a biblical worshiping of a gold cow. with dancing and singing, and i suspect some sexual stuff. *hopping up and down excitedly!!* hehei wanna go

Burning Man kicks ass. I've seen 20' tall metal masks cry tears of flame at night. I've seen 40' long multi-section dragons tooling across the desert floor spitting dragons. I've seen co-ed naked croquet and co-ed naked twister. The Mrs. & I have even volunteered for several years.
The environment is harsh. You can't walk around barefoot for too long or else the alkalai dust will give you a case of "playa foot" which you DO NOT WANT. Think the worst case of cracking & burning athlete's foots you've had and go the next step. Mrs. 420 suggests not to walk around barefoot at all. If you do, wash them with Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap. I speak from experience.
One thing that really makes the desert doable is a product called Emergen-C. I won't go into the chemistry of it, but it's a vitamin C drink. It's formulated not as ascorbic acid but as mineral ascorbates which means it's more readily taken up by the body instead of beng pissed out as ascorbic acid tends to be. It really helps when you're sweating as much as you will out there on Th Playa.
It's also really great for hangovers. Drink one before you go to bed and one in the morning. Really takes the edge off.

I am trying to convince Misti that burning my jeep will not solve the problem.
It is a long story, but last fall I bought a vintage jeep. A 1955 cj5 with a four cylinder F head to be precise. It had some problems, to be expected but there was a lot to work with there. So I decided that I would fix it up, and turn it into my daily driver.
Well 10 months, gallons of blood ,sweat , and tears, 2 grand, and a completly new drive train. It broke down today ( nothing too serious, bad fuel pump) But Misti has declaired her unwavering hatred of that infernal machine and she wants to destroy it.
How can I explane the commitment I am in with my jeep. It is the first vehicle that I have been this attached to since The death of my 81 camaro.
