Existential Musing.

That's Sartre harsh, Joe. :(

Feeling a bit stressed Joe?

I wondered that, but by the sheer passion levels of the first post I assumed bare hands would probably be involved *nods*

Feel better for that Joe love?

I think someone needs to kill some pixies... or something like that *L*

Hi, Joe. :cathappy:

Camus gets on my nerves but I've never finished a book of his.
Existentialism is frustrating to me. Recently watched "The Graduate". It had an existentialist flavor to me. Never hated Dustin Hoffman so much.

Alright, 'cause I like ya', we won't go with step one... but in you go. C'mon.

I ain't gettin' in NO hole with God. He & I don't see eye to eye. (Assuming He's not yanking the Pope's chain, that is.) :rose:

And, per your own philosophy, you CAN'T like me.

Whole cloth?

Joe Wordswidth said,

"neotermages" is a Marino term, also used by Grayson after Rachels used it once when talking about socio-biological evolution of altruism. It means something like (and this is a paraphrase) "to take a concept, finite in being, and then through exposure of its non-meanings, develop a new concept that is both distinctly not-the-original and at the same time related to it". Heidegger did this a lot with just the idea of "being" when he started pulling through ideas that being is a subjective state, and not-being-there can be an objective state.

Readers should be aware that despite the air of authority, the above appears to be largely made up; 'whole cloth', as it were, with the exception that there was a philosopher named Rachels who wrote about altruism. And of course there are hundreds of Grayson's in this world and at least one a biologist and one psychologist.

In any case, Wordwidth supplies no references, as is scholarly and intellectual practice, so no claims can be verified.

On the negative side:

google for 'neotermage' yields nothing. (thus likewise 'neotermage' and Rachels' and 'neotermage and Grayson')
google for 'Marino' yield nothing except re San Marino
google for 'Grayson and Rachels' yields apparently irrelevant material.

'neotermage' is not in the merriam webster unabridged.
Marino is not in the merriam webster unabridged.

More in the spirit of Joe W, I would reply as follows

The word 'neotermage' is entirely made up, being hitherto only used in Weiner's 'study' in the Journal of Irreproduceable Results. Fischer picked up the joke, in his study of social aletheia, and was followed in that vein by Williams in his seminal investigation of aporia. The connection of 'neotermage' and twitdom was once alluded to by Heidegger in his prophetic words "Being is not a term, and it's scheiss that I'm neo," a comic train of thought evidenced in the later work, "I'm neo to this," by H's follower, noted University of Mississippi Turkish literature professor Osawat Cervit.
