Exercise!

I can't run...bad knees. So I take walks in the evenings with ankle weights on to help. I do upperbody work with weights and I do some crunches and push-ups. I am not very disciplined about how many or how long, I just go until I start to feel the burn, then I push myself a little extra.

:nana: 22 years in the army. Enjoying some slack time now after being told when, where and for how long (exercising that is, not the obvious).
:nana: Can I have some time off before I get back into the routine? :nana:

'Press up position, DOWN! To my timing, BEGIN' etc etc, ad nauseum. :nana:

I was starting up my walking routine again when I caught this cold/flu bug. As I understand it, working out when you have one is equivalent to shooting yourself in the leg - counterproductive. If anyone knows something to the contrary, though, I'd love to hear how I can build up while being sick. :)

It's a myth, Kass. Shooting yourself in the leg is actaully very good for the blood circulation.

Now if I could only get the right people to believe that...I wonder if any of our politicians are senile enough...hm...

I can only give you my own experience, which says you're going to hurt more than it could possibly be worth.

I got pneumonia once... and after the doctor said I was 100% okay, I went back to my Martial Arts training.

Not to be racial or anything, but I firmly believe that if my instructor had not been Latin, super-hot, and female and my being crippled by an overpowering sense of latin machismo I would have quit after the first 10 seconds of stretching.

The only thing about the next three weeks I can say is that if my life ever depends on me doing something that requires monumental willpower to accomplish I'm going to ask a good-looking, latin female to ride shotgun because I have PROOF-POSITIVE that I would rather fucking die than look bad in front of her.

Sincerely,
ElSol

I walk. About 5 miles each time I go out, maybe four times a week.

I'm blessed with a metabolism that doesn't gain weight.

My preference would be an enthusiastic woman, but that ain't gonna happen.

Generally though, I'm like Einstein, all I ask of my body is that it carry my brain around.

There's the rest of us, being all fit and healthy, then there's you with yer damn smoking.

GIVE IT UP!

Or smoke a 'nana.

I fitness smoke.

Me too! :D

Ok, so my fitness smoking involves cycling a couple of miles every day... but I usually stop at the top of a steep hill, spark up a joint, then free-wheel and smoke all the way down :catroar:

I go to the gym when I can be bothered.

I hope this thread sinks without a trace, and soon.

I sat next to a "hard-body" on the plane last night. He spent the whole flight reading about motor cycles. I thought of asking if he wanted to meet Carson, but I was worried, in case he actually was carson.

Especially not bright green frocks, I hope! Still, we'd soon spot you at the meet up. :D

Now, will you please stop being so bloody negative about yourself! Do I have to beat it out of you?

I Dance. I usually do stretches every morning and then practice dance. It is amazing how flexible the human body can be. Oh and I also do yoga :)
