excel hell....HELP!!!!

I am totally brain dead and cannot find my excel for Dummies book!

I need to multiply column a by column b and have the total show up in column c.

I do this all the time - but it's not working today!!!


HELP!!!!!!!

and paste down the column.

this would add the two numbers, not multiply them.

In the column c cell type: =

then click on the cell in column a, then type *
and click on the cell in column b, and hit enter

That should do it.

that will get it

like insert round peg a in oval slot be and remove
repeat step 1 til tried.

Ok, here I am again!!! Haven't seen the Excel For Dummies since I moved, so I'm lost.

I need to freeze the columm 1, but when I highlight it, go to "window" and hit "freeze panes", it freezes the first 14 rows...not good.

Anyone have any ideas here????
