OOC: There seems to be a fair few threads happening at this moment in time with very few openings, so I thought I'd just throw a new one up in the air and see what happens (alternatively, you could just say I'm lazy, and can't be bothered to read through pages of threads.
)... Besides, this board wouldn't be complete without SOME sort of medical drama right?
Me: Dr. Kel Larson, 25yo, 5'10, atheletic - well shaped chest and shoulders, well defined biceps but without being overtly muscular, short jet black hair, light brown eyes
IC:
"Hey, it's hardly my fault your schedule bites!" I laughed, as Meg stormed out of the consultation room.
Meg and I have always been great friends, ever since we met at our very first tutorial at med school five years ago. To her I was very much like the brother she never had. To me... well, I never quite sorted out my feelings about her. There was just something about Meg. She was... impulsive and playful. Contagiously energetic. I would spend hours on end trying to convince her that her crazy games was one day gonna get her into deep trouble, and yet she always manages to twist my arm one way or another - and end up making me play along with her - and I always end up enjoying myself. Which is why I adore Meg more than anyone else I've ever "adored" - she MADE me have fun in this profession filled with sadness and suffering...
Today was the first day of our Emergency Department rotation here at the new Mater hospital. The Mater was never intended to be a large metropolitan hospital and as such the Emergency Department doubled up as General Admissions, allowing interns such as Meg and I an opportunity not only to get hands on experience on the excitement and stress of Emergency medicine, but also an opportunity to get an understanding of the day to day sludge known as general practice - case after case of the common cold, separated occasionally by sporadic cases of diarhorrea, and teenage girls wanting contraception. This was gonna be some experience.
Note to self: Offer to swap hours with Meg later... I thought to myself, as I fiddled with the stethoscope around my neck.
My thoughts were interuppted by the intercom.
"Kel?"
"Yah. What's up?" I replied.
"We have a patient here in the waiting room. Do you want to take it or should I get Meg?"
"I'll take it."
I figured Meg wouldn't exactly be the friendliest doctor to be around right now.
OOC: And that's it for now. The thread is open to one and all - obviously, I'd like a lady to play Meg for me, but other than that, the roles can include nurses, receptionists, other doctors, patients, visiting relatives etc etc... Hope this works.
