Up 'till I read this, I didn't have an idea of what the modern world was comin' to.

Damn you, estragon. My mom was in a local production of that play when I was four or five, and for months she sang those songs to me during bath time. I know every damn line of that song, and others. I have a feeling I know what the kidlet will be enduring today during her bath time today.

On a related note, it's amazing to me how much we all put up with for so long. As much as I groan each time I see another story like this, it's refreshing to see it out in the open. I (and my parents) thought nothing of them telling me when I was in grade school, "oh, it's fine to play kickball during recess with Father so-and-so [the priest who seemed to be shuttled from one church to the next every couple of years], but if someone kicks the ball past the church, don't go alone with him to get it." In retrospect... wtf was everyone thinking?

I think all the non practicing Catholics (who number legion) should find a new religion to not practice. One that does not discourage marriage and normal sexual intercourse in its servants, but encourages the molestation of children.

The Catholic church and its hypocrisy greatly influenced me against god and religion many years ago. So I guess I owe it some thanks, as I am happy to say I don't believe in any of it.
