Everything Baseball

The west is really mediocre, but Seattle got better at the deadline. Houston made one terrible deal for a rental starter that possibly made them marginally better for this season only.

I still think it’s the Mariners’ year to win the West, but if Verlander comes back healthy and effective and the bats keep doing what they did in June & July, the Astros should be in the mix. I have nothing kind to say about the Rangers, so I’ll follow the Thumper rule “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.” Haha

You want to say something nice then tell me how to fix the Phils!

Well the ATL won 104 games last year, had the MVP and got beat out in the Divisional round 3-1.

Just get in,and get on a roll.

The Tigers have written off the season and still rebuilding. The youngsters from AAA will get their chance.

ATL gets 2/3 from the Brew Crew and I'm happy to report no fighting broke out in the 3 game series.

Royals sweep the Sox and sending them to their 16th straight loss.

And that's a NO Hitter for Blake Snell, good job.

I recall somebody got on here a few months ago and said that guy was all washed up?....wasn't me. :cautious:

ATL gets another win coming back late 5-3

And the Twins beat the Sox sending them to their 18th straight loss.

Wild end to tonight’s Dodgers @ As game! For those who missed it: it was 4-0 Dodgers until the top of the 9th, at which point it became 10-0 Dodgers.

Then, in the bottom of the 9th, they decided to let super utility Kiké Hernandez pitch, for what I believe to be the 2nd time ever?! (As far as I know, he’s played every position for the Dodgers except catcher. #LetKikéCatch!) They also put backup pitcher Austin Barnes on 2nd, because at that point, why the heck not? 🤣 Kiké got the save, 10-0 Dodgers, final.

Also, I’ve never seen so many people in the As stadium, and yes, they were all in blue and on their feet at the end. I’m not gonna pretend it was a great victory, they bullied those poor As, but it was unpredictable and entertaining AF

These west coast games are too late for me.

Don’t see position players pitch much anymore with the DH and expanded bullpens. Hernandez must have been asking to pitch.

Looks as if Barnes may have been the last available person on the bench. He used to play second all the time, so I guess everything feel just right to give up the DH.

Interesting.

Yeah, as I mentioned, Kiké has done everything for the Dodgers except (to my knowledge) catch, and they were up 10-0 in the bottom of the 9th. Saving a pitcher for tomorrow and resting a 2nd baseman probably seemed more desirable than keeping the shutout, and they knew they could get away with it 🤷🏻‍♀️

‘Twas a very interesting and unexpected move, but not entirely crazy!

Dodgers had a bullpen game set up for today and didn't wanna use an extra arm last night if possible.Used 6 pitchers today and won 3-2. ;)

Disappointed to see the ATL lose 2 to the Fish, that can't happen but it did.

But the Twins sweep the Sox sending them to their 20th straight loss.

Afternoon baseball Guardians @ Twins,actually a doubleheader.

Sweep gets the Twins within 1 game. 🙃
