I think it is silly to mention a few people as setting the tone of the board when everyone has a part in doing it. This is in appreciation of all of you never mentioned by those ever popular "list threads". Each of you has at one time made someone laugh or think or soothed a troubled mind.

Thank you for doing that and for the often silent way you lend support via email and pms. Someone mentioned to me tonight how they felt like they were "under radar" because they were taken for granted. I want to especially let this person know they are valuable and constant in their contributions.

This is not to offend the authors of said lists it is merely to address the majority of wonderful people never mentioned. I am sure all the authors here appreciate those of us who read their stories. Everyone needs to be appreciated. Thanks to you all.

I just knew I'd make a list one of these days...;)

But really...I agree with you wholeheartedly.:)

well

I haven't written any stories and I haven't made any lists yet.(BFD), but Ginger......your ok by me.

Bout fucking time you apologized for it too Ebees.

Underneath the radar - Underworld

I resent that. I went to a lot of trouble to create this list, and now you tell me I'm out of line?

invisible

wow-does it mean that by everyone who isn't on the "other" list gets to be on this one?:D

Juspar, you're always out of line. Now get back in!

Seriously, though. Gingersnap is absolutely right one. Most of us have complained about the list threads, yet they keep getting made. Sometimes by the very people who complain about the list threads!

Blah, blah, blah, popularity, outgoing people, etc.

That's a cool list, Juspar.
And... me too! All on your list are on mine!
:D

I'm on page 89 of the C's, right after cylent (clever!) and before Cyn (clever again!). Certainly puts things into perspective, your list.

*Lazer*? THIS thread is why i'm so uncomfy with the other kind. There are far, far too many people here who make this place a joy for me to imagine i could possibly do right by them all. Ummm, you all. Y'all.

Anyway, i just don't have that good a mem, i'm sorry to say. It was a casuality of the 70's and i've learned not to rely on it for anything important. The list-making kinda thing, with its potential for hurt feelings, is definitely what i consider 'important'.

So i tag along after other people who are far better list makers and say "me too!" a lot.

Cym's right. Again.

I meet and discover new people here everyday that offer something new and wonderful. This pond is the real deal. And the fish are yummy:D

Great list Juspar... it just about says it all don't you think? Hows it going in the frozen North. Great day here today man... lovely and warm... :D

Y'know what those lists remind me of?

High School..

It was always just myself and a couple of friends. The overall populace knew I existed, when I spoke, they usually listened, and responded.. I was as nice as I could be, I helped everyone who asked, I started conversations with people whenever I could.. But none of them counted me as a friend or even really counted me at all..

*sigh*

And someone comes to the realization, that everyone tries to contribute.

Thank-you Gingersnap, for posting the thread that include's EVERYONE......

Sounds like my school days. The only time I counted was on the rugby field or in the boxing ring.

Lavy's thread was really nice... and honest and from her heart and I was thrilled to be mentioned...

And she has more guts then me to do so - because I'm always afraid that I'll forget someone. Not because they aren't important to me but because I do things like that - concepts and philosophy and debates I can wrap myself around... but lists, details, dates - damn if I don't just go blank at times.

And everyone else who posted on that thread - its a good thing to acknowledge your friends. And that's what they were doing - taking a chance to say thank you to some people who mean something to them - not to say those are the only people at lit who make a difference.

Lit has grown so big - especially these past few months. Its like the "small" New England town I live in. Its not small anymore, but it still thinks it is. Years ago it was possible to know everyone in town, now that is impossible.

And its that way at Lit now. Its growing. You know some people in passing - some you run into at parties or public events or cultural gatherings. Others you have over for dinner. Some become real and true and dear and close friends.

Gingersnap is right. We all make Lit what it is. We all have our circle of friends - those who we have various things in common with. Its the way societies and cultures are established and grow.

Its all good.

Thank you all for making this a community that I truly enjoy being a part of. And special thanks to those of you who have invited me to your parties and into your homes and let me be your friend.

Umm... me too!

What Dill said.

That's what i was trying to say, and not very successfully, either, it seems, earlier in this thread. Thanks, Dill.

Hmm.. something just occured to me...

If we continue with the paralell of Lit to High School..

Would that make Cym the head cheerleader?

Would that make Laurel the Principal?

Only if that cheerleading outfit had nipple clamps inside the top and a tightly restrictive corset around the middle, Moridin...

And they kept us kicking our heels so high with whips...

And if the team was losing we had to cheer wearing butt plugs...

And...

(A new fantasy is born...
thanks...
like i need more of those!)

;)
