Everybody okay?

I know this snow storm has hit points south pretty hard. Here in SE PA it has yet to start, but school has been canceled and the latest forecast calls for snow, then snow/rain, then more snow, and total accumulation of 6-12".

Check in when you can.

I live in southern Pa and we got slammed....about 17 inches so far....but we are safe and cozy....:rose:

57 here in Bryan/College Station and sunny. :)

It's supposed to be in the 70's for the weekend. :D

If the sun comes out here, we'll all go blind. Everything is white.

Sunglasses are a necessity here on the Emerald Coast - year round. The white sand is blinding; add in the salt in the sea breeze and my eyes hurt being outside.

We're not immune to the bad weather. The storm dumping on y'all brought a drizzly day without sun yesterday; today is sunny but only in the upper 50s. Our normal high temp this time of the year should be mid-60s. :D

Well, glad to be powered still but it's getting ugly.

Snow hit. Ice crust on top locked that in. A nice film of water/ice mix is over everything just waiting to freeze over tonight. Unable to do much to remove despite serious efforts.

And the power's blinking all while some really crazy thunderbooms have joined forces with the sleet storm.

Trending downward...

Reports are somewhere around 20" or so of snow. One Interstate is shut down while the other has a backup primarily of semi's about 13mi long.

Yuck. Just came inside from three hours of shoveling of what was officially called 12 inches--and it snowed the entire time. There were two or three more inches down at the top of the driveway by the time I shoveled down to the bottom. And now is snowing heavily--heavier than last night. Still have power, but unlike last night's snow, this snow is sticking to limbs and wires, so . . .

We got around 8 inches of snow. Expecting another 4 to 8 overnight. Do not want...

Everything's closed where I am. 12 -14 inches scheduled through tomorrow. yuck. want to move somewhere where there doesn't seem to have any snow.

Winds to Gale Force and more (100 mph?) and Loads of Rain.
It's the wettest winter in 250 years, according to some experts.

Apparently, the ground water level is at maximum now.
What we need is a very Dry summer!

Penn Lady asked me to post on her behalf to say she is fine, they still have power, but no internet so she may not be on today, but wanted everyone to know she is okay.

Glad to hear everyone is riding out the storm safely. News says more snow is on the way, maybe Nature can send some of it Sochi's way, sounds like they need it more than you do!

Thanks, LC :)

We're back now. Turns out it wasn't directly snow-related. The tech was just here and told us he had to reconnect a line that had been pulled out, possibly by our neighbor using a snowblower or something like that. Anyway, nice to be connected again.

For snow, we had about 12" yesterday, and another 2-3" piled up overnight. Our driveway is now clear just in time for whatever we might get this weekend. OTOH, at least we weren't on the PA Turnpike, where there was a huge accident involving 50-100 cars.

And some day, I hope, the kids will go back to school....

Glad you're back and a-ok. Really would have been awful the person who checks in on everybody else gets snowed under herself.

Since Zeb delivered our weather yesterday I'll deliver it today....72 and breezy. :D

Thank you. :) This time we were quite lucky, but also, there was no ice like there was last week, so less threat in terms of losing power. It almost seems silly that our internet issue was just a loose cable, although hey, I'll take it.

Mr. Penn made a snow fort for the kids, complete with tunnel and so naturally we all had to have a snowball fight. Now we're tired.

Tomorrow we may go so far as to venture away from the house. ;)

What's the temperature look like being in Tampa on, umm, 1 March, JBJ?

Saw the sun today in RI and it was in the thirties so we got some melting finally

But we will pay for that insolence tomorrow with 2-5" of snow. Then possibly more on Monday.
