For my part, I believe most of the deplorables are really just trying to outdo each other on who can piss us off the most, while a select few are just plain good old fashioned racists. Like it or not, we already knew there were millions of them out there!

How many fucking threads do we need about Covid? How many threads about polls of the current President? #grievancePorn is truly the norm.

I took a little break..probably going to take a longer one. I truly just need to stop myself from the "smack my head because you're a dumbass" reaction comment....doesn't really do much.

Perfectly stated. The problems arise when the Deplorables dreams of conflict and civil war materialize in an asymmetrical attack by the enemies they provoked that they're impotent to respond to with their hoards of guns and their toxic tough talk posturing on message boards.

Their only option is to flood the zone with more grievance porn.

Yah, this board is a shit show.

Not sure of the reason for the topic....would need to pose that to the OP.

What I notice more and more is that most people don't care to discuss policy nuances or complexities of difficult issues.

For example, immigration is a hugely complex issue, but all discussion ends up being racism versus open borders....not much in between.

Covid is a pandemic with huge complexities in solutions, but it ends up being a discussion about authoritarianism or complete dismissal of on ongoing and out of control virus.

There were a few issues like Infrastructure which I thought we all were geared toward...but that usually just devolves into deficit hawks destroying discussion

And of course, the protests and accompanying/aggitating rioters - which typically are just conflated into everyone just being the worst human beings on the planet.

Anyway...hope your day goes well. I've got a few days off with family which will be nice.

You can post all the well-sourced facts you can find, but you just can't set 'em straight -- they'll keep repeating the same thoroughly debunked bullshit as if they had proven it. Your typical Liticon is the sort who will not only tell you the sky is green, but, if you take them outside on a cloudless day and point at the sky, will tell you, "See?! I told you! It's green!"
