Why does every guy who writes a story in 1st person start the story with some variation of "I have a huge dick. "
I'm still trying to figure out why some people care how other people start their stories.
Note the use of 'some' which removes the broad sweeping generalization of 'everyone' and sounds like much less of an assumption and an attack. Word choices...think about them.

I think people care as readers reading the works of others. If you don't care about what the author is doing, why do you care to read at all?
I would guess that, most of the time, I can tell within five paragraphs or so whether I'm going to like a story or not. If the author has gone to the trouble to start it well there's a far better chance that the rest of it is good, too. So, as a reader, I care very, very much how authors start their stories.
That's what this sort of dialogue is about. It's not about dictating to other authors "Do it my way." It's about sharing how we react as readers. That seems (to me) to be useful information to share. I, for one, am very curious how other author/readers react to what they read, and I'm glad they share it here.
I don't wanna fight, LC, but it's "every guy who starts a story". The "some" refers to "variation of dick size".
"Every guy" seems as broad a stroke as one can get.![]()

Suzie looked at the torn open parcel wrapper on the kitchen table. As an exercise, I'm thinking of starting a short story with the line, "It's not easy having a 10-inch penis." and seeing what I can come up with.

With that exact wording, this could also be a statement from someone on the receiving end, with “having” in the sense of getting. The dialog could also employ the boilerplate statement made by far too many people in television interviews, “Thanks for having me.”As an exercise, I'm thinking of starting a short story with the line, "It's not easy having a 10-inch penis." and seeing what I can come up with.

So that leaves my reading. I do read here a bit, and I'll be honest: maybe I'm just more selective than the OP, but I can't remember too many stories that start out that way.
I'm inclined to think the OP needs to widen his search criteria. Stop searching for "ten inch dick" and he'll probably find intelligent stories like the rest of us do.I ran a search for "have a big dick" and the search did produce stories with that in the opening. Some were from the female POV.
At least Noir would sit around and watch the fun.
