Anyone ever slam their head on a door frame? Did that the other day. I'm sure you could here me cussing 10 miles away.

All the time :) I'm 6'4" and whenever I was over at my grandparents they have a door frame that's only about 6', all kinds of cursing all of the time

My worst experience was when I woke up in the middle of the night because I heard water dripping.

Now mind you I had been injured earlier that day playing softball. Head injury, knocked out, my face broke my fall. I had 8 stiches in my lip and my face looked like I had gone 9 rounds with Mike Tyson when he used to be boxer and not a biter.

Walked right into the door jamb face first. I've never had such excrutiating pain in my life.

That hurts just thinking about your experience Denae. I'm epileptic so I've hit my head alot. Just don't feel the pain when I have a seizure. Besides hitting your head on a door frame have a 100 pound dog step on you. I've got a 100 pound Golden Retrevier that steps on my foot all the time. Not as painful as hitting the door frame though.

All right here it comes:

I'm 6'7 1/2". The significance of this is that in the state of California door frames are regulated to be 6'8" tall. No prob -- right? Well, add some shoes. Permanent slouch.

Then there was the little matter of the year and one half I spent in Germany -- most of the door frames -- for energy efficiency -- were far shorter -- the Hunchback of Northern Bavaria I was.

The worst/best though -- the other stuff is just routine head banging -- I had some friends over to play cards one night. Some nasty, carbonated beverage consumption later and at one point I had a paper towel to toss into the trash.

The angle from the entry to the den where we were playing to the trash can in the kitchen was too much to resist. I took the shot -- jumped perfectly -- and was perfectly aligned with the header that came down from the ceiling between the two areas. Damn near rendered myself unconscious. Much laughter on the part of the buds though.

I still have a massive hangup about open kitchen cabinets. When I was growing to full height I passed a stage where the corners of them would routinely poke into my scalp as I turned, moved or otherwise made myself a nuisance in the kitchen.

Ah -- tall. It's a way of life.

Sorry I had to laugh.....could just imagine this "perfect" SWOOSH of a paper towel going toward the wastebasket and the SLAM of a guy into the door frame.

I guess I am lucky, only 5"3'.....even in California ~ I don't hit my head on much!!!! :cathappy:

Not on a door frame- but at almost 5'9, I manage to hit the overhead bins on airplanes a bit more often than I'd like.

Arden, the overhead bins got me laughing. I can actually stand fully upright under those bins. lol

I can't say I've ever hit the top of a door frame but those pesky sides get me more then I care to admit. I seem to think I can cut corners in my home. I can't. The walls and structure haven't changed but I seem to think at least a few times a day I can just shave off an inch or two. I have permanent bruises.

On top of being that stupid, I have lost some of my balance in the last few years so I'm apt to trip a lot and the results are not pretty. I say the word 'ouch' quite a lot - but not as much as my klutzy sister. It must be genes. ;)

you ladies are funny! Like Cate, I too can stand fully upright under the place bins. Can't say I've had the pleasure of meeting the top of a doorframe... they don't build houses for short people. But I've become intimately acquainted with the doors that the frames hold up... oh yeah, we've become real buddies  ;)

I'm 5'5 but I don't think it matters how tall you are. You will hit you head sometime in life lol :D

With a little athletic effort on the part of a male partner tall enough -- you could find yourself banging the door frame while riding the pleasure pole. Just another of those twisted things tall folk get involved in. :p
