I went to a gay sex club in Tokyo with my friend once. His friend worked there so we went to hang out. As an employee, he had to take the $ from the blokes when they arrived, and make sure that the porn never stopped.

It was an interesting afternoon to say the least. Although Japanese porn is all censored, and gay Japanese porn is pretty lame. We watched a 30 minute sequence of two men looking at each other as they walked through a cherry-blossom park. This was set to music played on a koto.

However the patrons all seemed happy when they left.

I've been to several "sex clubs" or "whore houses" in Mexico (Boy's Town). Basically you go in, they show you some of the women, you pick one (or two) and go have a drink/haggle over price and that's it.

You go to her room and fuck. When you're done, you buy her a drink at the bar as a "thank you".

Face it - if you go on a "date" you're gonna spend $40, $50 or more just for dinner, cab, etc., and never know if you're going to have sex. This way the bullshit is out of the way, you pay the money and get your rocks-off!!

i went to a swing club once (almost 2 years ago) with friends but as a single ... so we had to pay (say around $200) ... there was a huge hall with music + low lights, like a normal club, then a corridor led to smaller rooms with big windows so from the corridor people could see what the rooms' occupants were doing ... haven't seen all the rooms ... the ones i saw had long + wide couches on which people could lay and have fun

The one I've been to started as a multi-screen X-rated theater, then opened a cocktail lounge next door, then opened a dance floor off the lounge. The sex is entirely on the part of the patrons -- no topless dancers, hostesses, hookers, whatever. (Well, there is the occassional blowjob for $20 in the back of the theater, but not in the lounge or on the dance floor.) Couples may invite other couples or singles to join them, or just watch.

This was some years ago now, hell, must be 10 years plus. It was near Manchester, that's about all I can recall now. We found it when we were looking through a Swingers mag.

I think I can answer my own question, though...I used to go to a male gay bar more than 20 years ago to dance because they always had the best music and if I didn't want to get hit on, it was a very safe place to go. But that place got raided so many times from things I have no idea were going on there. I was so innocent back then.
I'm so intrigued by the idea of a sex club. I was invited to one once, but I never went...I was scared, to be perfectly honest, and I wasn't so sure of the man who asked me. I think the latter was the biggest part. He also intrigued me immensely, because he was kind of a different class, a native of England, white (no, that didn't scare me). I still wonder what would have happened if I had gone with him.
The advantage of being a writer, is that I can explore the possibility in the written word.
