Back in the days of the Soviet Union, the Soviet Red Army had an official choir composed of male soldiers and musicians. It still exists. The Red Army Choir performs throughout Russia to this day.

A little while ago, the The Leningrad Cowboys held a concert in Russia, in which - to the screaming applause of Russkie teen-agers - they got the Red Army Choir to join them on stage for a performance of "Sweet Home Alabama." In English.

No, I'm not kidding.

:D

Thanks for posting this. They were really rockin' out. I swear I saw at least two of them move! ;)

BWAHA!!! The Leningrad Cowboys!!!!

Look up their movies. Seriously. Must be drubnk to watch them.

OMG the HAIR!! and the song ends with them singing the refrain from the "Volga Boatman"

When I was in high school, or maybe just out of it? I created a comic character with hair like that, as a goof. I never expected to actually see hair like that...

These guys have been around for a long while. I got hooked on them when my aunt let me borrow her old copy of Leningrad Cowboys Go America - about 15 years ago.

Oh, I know that. But I never noticed the hair until about five years ago, when I again, thought back to my comic that I never got off the ground...

Even during the darkest days of the Cold War this old American soldier loved the Red Army Choir. No one sang soldier's songs like they do and few songs tug the military heart like "Motherland". Daaah-ta-ta-taaaaaaaaah-tah, Ta-tat-tat-dah-dah-dah-taaah-tah . . .

Y'gotta love it!

*tears start to trickle down weathered cheeks*

Has to be one of the funniest things I've seen in many years! :D :D :D

Is that hair a secret weapon?
