Ah, poor Dr Suess. In the good ol' US of A no one is safe from politics. This was e-mailed to me today by a Democrat PAC looking for money.

Taxes and Facts-es

Biting my nails, I waited and waited
To see in December how many jobs Bush created

"1,000" it read, which tore me asunder,
And I just had to wonder, "Is that a big number?"

So I went to G-O-O-O-P Leader DeLay
To see what about this he'd have to say

"1,000!" he said, "Now, listen to this:
That's just the biggest darn number there is!"

"What about 150,000?" I said as he smirked,
"That's just the new people now looking for work"

To this he replied, "No, that's not big at all,
At least from the mathematics I can recall!"

"What about 300,000?" I pushed through my sobs,
"That many just gave up looking for jobs!"

"Stop being silly, that's just microscopic,
Too small to imagine, now let's change the topic"

I grew angry and said, "Now let's make this clear:
We were promised a million new jobs this last year.
306,000 new jobs each month I would hear,
But you have forgotten that promise, I fear.

3,000,000 Americans now go without pay,
$1,000,000,000,000 in deficits, what have you to say?"

By now I lament, he did not even listen,
He toyed with a shiny gold coin that would glisten.
"$90,000 in refunds every millionaire made!
Not to mention the pork, While job growth's DeLay-ed!"

No, nothing is sacred in an election year. :D

- Mindy, wishing I could rhyme to come up with something clever to write :)
