Euro Lit Get Together in Amsterdam?

Life has been a little rushed and overwhelming for us of late, and still is, but wanted to post this so we can get some feedback from the BDSM board posters who may be interested. After the hugely positive experience we had attending the East Coast (USA) Lit /BDSM Get Together last year, and in recognition of our growing number of European posters on the board, we thought some may be interested in getting together to meet in Amsterdam.

We are open to suggestions on what sort of get together people may prefer and when everyone thinks they would find it best timing wise. We initially looked at the idea of a dinner evening with a possible club visit following, but are also open to a weekend get together if this is preferred. The weekend option would be more logical if we had people from a wider radius wanting to join in, and also allows for a variety of activities from just talking and getting to know each other to demonstrations etc.

This could be a lot of fun!!...and of course, if anyone wants to follow our lead and visit the get together from the USA or Oz or NZ or anywhere else, you will be most welcome. Mmmm, 3 people come to mind immediately and I am sure they know who they are!

I would attend if it was a weekend, would like to meet people in real life.

I would come over from UK regardless if it was evening or weekend planned as its not too difficult to get over to Amsterdam by plane from where i live.

That is cool. I was hoping some people from the UK would be able to come, and look forward to meeting you. I will keep everyone updated on what is happening.

I admit in advance it will be rather unlikely that I will be able to make it as I am basically "booked out" for most weekends this year alreday, but on the off-chance I do express my interest in any case!

I shall be watching this space in any case ....

I can make most weekends if i have about four weeks notice.

Weekdays are impossible as is most of July due to family gatherings....other than that I am all yours lolol

On slightly different note, have never been to munch or getogether like this.

I have no idea about protocols for meeting Dom/mmes, slaves and subs and would not wish to offend anyone by lack of resepct or poor manners.

I would find inappropriate respect or too much gushing (on my part) embarrassing when meeting people I have come to regard with utmost respect through this site and the boards.

I will probably attend alone and again lack knowledge about suitable dress etc.

All advice would be welcome..

On a side note - using this site in an internet cafe whilst on holiday does raise the odd eyebrow or two

For the most part I visualise it as dressing how you feel comfortable. If it is a whole weekend event and we all go to a club, it may be an idea to have something black and slinky/sexy or even better, latex, to get in. Otherwise, we are not much into dressing scene like ourselves...is always a dig in desperation if we are to go to something where it is expected. The Lit BDSM GT we went to in the US was all informal dress, and the weekend was spent laughing, getting to know each other through chatting, eating delicious food, and informal demonstrations and swapping of tips in one of the motel rooms on the Saturday night. We chose to spend the time getting to know each other more so than going clubbing etc.

As to how to address people, I can only speak for us. We don't expect special treament from anyone, and he reserves the title of Master or Amo for my use as we feel it is more a personal honorific more so than a title for anyone to use when speaking to him. I would imagine common courtesy would be sufficient, and if anyone felt differently, they make it known to everyone so we can avoid offence.

C
