Ethics Just Get In The Way.

There's a good description of Donald Trump - accidentally elected because he's pretty and isn't very bright.

And NED stands for "not enough data."

With respect phrodeau, may I disagree with your first statement on both counts ( I am recognizing your irony) and thank you for the information in the second comment.

The National Endowment for Democracy.

Sigh.

Exactly. You're only interested in running Trump down. Democratic Party corruption is AOK with you.

I try not to ever run anyone down underguy. I think Trump is a highly intelligent and now supremely powerful person.

I do have concerns his beliefs may cause a serious dislocation to your country and further serious worldwide repercussions.

As far as corruption is concerned I will lead with Lord Acton's quote. "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

For the umpteenth time, it's not my country.

Here's a quote for you.

"You can always tell a Victorian, but you can't tell 'em much."

Well fark me blind! You fooled me, I thought you were a Deplorable having a chat! You're a man from the great land of the sheep shaggers.

Well you may not be able to tell me much mate, but you sure as hell have made me re-appraise writing the words "your country" from now and henceforth it shall be know as America when I post online. Nods in appreciation.

He said he had no obligation to establish boundaries between his business empire and his White House, conceding that the Trump brand “is certainly a hotter brand than it was before.” He defended Stephen K. Bannon, his chief strategist, against charges of racism, calling him a “decent guy.” And he savaged Republicans who had failed to support him in his unorthodox White House bid.

Ethics? Schmethics! Do I have some new ethics for you!

So which country is yours?

I'm betting I get nothing but name calling in return.....

Underguy is a New Zealander, it is on his side panel, like mine, unlike yours. However you called someone a regressive dipstick the other day. Have to be Australian with that comment and 'Botany Boy' are you into weed or is a play on 'Botany Bay'. :D

I fear BB has gone thru all his weed since the election. :)

No worries Jack, he will be fine, Craig's list has just started up in Australia. If you look up under 'Antiques' or 'Collectibles' there is plenty of weed and anything else which might take your fancy, except antiques or collectibles that is. Online shopping has really taken off in Australia! :)

Yeah, he's starting to sweat now!

The Times just put up his (projected) short list of cabinet picks.

Oh Christ! are we fucked!

The Military Industrial Complex is less sleazy that his cabinet selections.

Only one woman on that list to be considered for a post. She is very pretty and quote Ann Coulter Trump’s #1 fan Coulter got animated while discussing Haley’s comments, and went so far as to call her a “bimbo.” After John Gibson asked that she shy away from such language, Coulter offered an alternative description of “woman who was accidentally elected because she’s pretty and isn’t very bright”…. Fox news so meh, but a bit of fun to be had by all!http://radio.foxnews.com/2016/01/14/ann-coulter-bimbo-nikki-haley-should-be-deported/ Will she be a winner or just remain one of the finalists vying for the job!

Just reading through that quote again, The only female finalist for a cabinet post is described as a bimbo, she is pretty, and isn't very bright.

You may be right Jack Luis.

I counted four women being considered for cabinet posts.

Underguy is NOT a New Zealander.

And Botany Boy is a US fascist.

"Dipstick" was a common epithet in "Dukes of Hazzard" on TV.

Ahh so you are undercover in New Zealand. If not NZ what then? Probably foolish of me to feed the trolls with a question.
Think he's Welsh from the use of boyo in one of his posts before he went on my ignore list .

Records Reveal the Trump Foundation Admitted to Illegal “Self-Dealing” -- "Good thing we spent so much time worrying about the Clinton Foundation."
the Trump Foundation has admitted that it did engage in illegal acts of “self-dealing,” just as critics had long alleged.

According to its 2015 I.R.S. tax filings, which were posted online by the nonprofit Web site GuideStar, the Trump Foundation appears to explain that it used charity money to benefit either Trump, his businesses, or his family. The records indicate that the private foundation transferred “income or assets to a disqualified person” and affirmed that it had engaged in acts of self-dealing over the years.
Ethics? We don't need no stinking ETHICS!! Legality? We're above all that. The God-Emperor Tromp is invincible! Kowtow, mortals! Kiss the God-Emperor's wilty little weenie!

The original post you are quoting was put up on the 18/11. NYT has since been updated on the 22/11.

It will be interesting to see how he continues to deflect all this on twitter. Currently he is talking about a fatal bus crash in Tennessee. When it all came to light way back in September, it was deflected by calling a former Miss World fat and the world went mad...how dare he call her fat? Look over there! where? there!

Thanks for the update.
Less bilious perhaps than the 18/11 list but seriously, not an inspiring cast of intellectuals.:(

Former Bush ethics lawyer: Trump is ‘going to be in violation of the Constitution on Day 1’

A former ethics attorney for the George W. Bush administration raised alarms about Donald Trump’s potential conflicts of interest — and he’s seen no evidence the president-elect’s team takes the issue seriously.

Trump said Tuesday during a meeting with New York Times editors and reporters that the law was “totally” on his side, because “the president can’t have a conflict of interest” — and that attitude deeply troubles Richard Painter, the chief White House ethics lawyer from 2005 to 2007.

“I don’t see how the Electoral College can vote for someone to become president who’s going to be in violation of the Constitution on Day 1, and hasn’t assured us he’s not in violation,” Painter said. “This is just as important as your birth certificate, more important than your birth certificate, or proof of age or what other requirements there are to become president of the United States.”

Painter said he suggested Wednesday morning to Kellyanne Conway that Trump should address potential conflicts with the U.S. Constitution’s emolument clause by turning over to the U.S. government for audit any payments made to his businesses by foreign governments or their entities after his inauguration.

The obscure constitutional clause bars anyone “holding any office of profit or trust” from accepting compensation from “any king, prince or foreign state” without congressional approval.
