Escape From The Newsroom blends fiction and reality in its uniquely wry, satirical and unapologetically dark look at newsroom and office politics. The film reunites members of the original cast, and introduces new characters into the already volatile mix. Ken Finkleman is back as George Findlay, the neurotic, hypochondriac, politically incorrect news director. Peter Keleghan reprises the role of anchor Jim Walcott, who has emerged from his coma to make a triumphant return to the anchor desk, despite the bullet still lodged in his brain. Other newsroom regulars include Jeremy Hotz and Karen Hines as news producers and David Huband as Bruce the weatherman. Leah Pinsent once again takes on the role of reporter/anchor Diane from Finkleman’s 1998 CBC-TV series More Tears.
New cast members include Christian Potenza as Chris, a news producer, Reagan Pasternak as Amanda, the intern and John Neville as George’s father.
Escape From The Newsroom is a CBC Television production, produced by Jan Peter Meyboom. Ken Finkleman is executive producer.
