Erotica Comics

I have seen very few guys with incorrect anatomy yet their drawings are erotic enough to draw my attention off the flawed anatomy .. I don't understand how do they manage to do that! The unfinished, incorrect .. yet so erotic .. great work!

sorry for the late reply. thank you for the nice and encouraging words. they mean a lot to me and hopefully i get better at this lol again, thanks sweetie.

Hello, Eves_Paradise...

Just happen to notice this thread after I posted in the AH sub-sub, sob, sob corner.

To my small point, I just want to ask what medium you are using. I clicked on the link and what I got are faded and too light reproductions in terms of intensity and colors. Could it be the medium or the transfer again?

Anyway, a few reactions to your art:

1. They looked graphic designs to me, which is good--incorporating the limited open spaces around the piece as part of the drawing/illustration. The flatness of the figures are poster-like, existing on their own without interacting with the atmosphere, which made it sharp-edged and clean.

2. You have good sensitive expressions in your characters--something important for illustration--to convey emotions. There are text balloons so I assumed these were meant for comics, either single panels or part of a page. Careful with the placement/positioning of these balloons--it must not distract or discourage readers/viewers eyes away from your art.

Lastly, I hope it can reproduce better here...or else, it will be all for naught.

Good luck!

hey Goblin,

thank you for the nice and encouraging words. i really appreciate you reviewing my work. to answer your questions and address your comments:

I basically use pencil and paper then scan them and post them when i'm finished. so i think it's more the medium rather than the transfer.

a few points as to the reasons: i wanted the edges to be as light as possible with my drawings, so that's why i use pencil. i know it should be more pronounced and tighter, but just afraid that if i use pen and just firm out the edges, the drawings won't come out as i intended them to be. i had experiences where when i started out with pencil, and then darken out the edges with pen, the results become quite different from the original. i also tried to increase the contrast after i finished them through Paint or Photoshop to make the edges darker and more pronounced without me having to resort to pen anymore, but that process just tended to just make ll edges pronounced (edges of the eyes, mouth, etc.), the result dirtier and messy with rough edges that made some of my drawings look like banshees lol..

so when i draw, i use pencil and when i finish them, i just try to finish and darken out the edges with pencil so i keep the natural and original look as much as possible. it also serves a purpose of making it tighter and quicker because once i'm done, i just scan them and color them through photoshop. i'm no professional by any means with coloring, but so far Photoshop has helped me give color to my characters in quick and efficient manner. oftentimes i complete the work 2 to 3 hours top for each completed drawing, maybe even a little bit more if there are more subjects/obects/characters involved so that's why sometimes some of my work i already drew in advace so the only thing i needed to do is thicken out the edges with pencil then Photoshop color them.

but since you mentioned that what you got basically are faded and too light reproductions in terms of intensity and colors, i might have to explore it a little bit more. i happen to believe you, but with my screen, sometimes it would be darker and crispier, and sometimes it would be too light. perhaps a suggestion: if you lowered the brightness of your computer screen, hopefully that would work it make the images darker and crispier. but i do tend to agree with you, i'll just have to find a way to make the edges of my drawing retain its lightness as i intend without distorting the original appearance.

They looked graphic designs to me, which is good--incorporating the limited open spaces around the piece as part of the drawing/illustration. The flatness of the figures are poster-like, existing on their own without interacting with the atmosphere, which made it sharp-edged and clean.

You're partly right. actually, my original drawings have borderlines on the paper and that's how i wanted it to look at the beginning. but while i was scanning some of my work and then posting it here, i found out that when i scanned one work using "Single Photo" instead of scanning them as an image or document, the result was that the computer just scanned the photo itself, without including the borderlines. so the whole thing was accidental lol.. but when i saw it, it looked kind of nice, better than when they had the borderlines on, so i just stuck with them.

and yes, they are graphic designs and i intended them to be in a comic book format. i guess i was kind of hoping Literotica would some day have a illustrated publishing division, recognize my work... well it won't hurt making little bi of $$$ with my hobbies just like others here have already had their written work published lol.. but that's what i was kind of hoping. i was looking and exploring the possibility of going to established adult-oriented comic book publishers, but i dont even know how to begin lol... first thing that came to mind was Eros, the publishers of "Housewives at Work" series, but again, dont really know how the process goes and how that will fare. so i just kind of test here to gauge people's reactions, whether they would welcome my work or not. but right now, i do this all for fun on Literotica and if i want to have my mind somewhere else and escape a little bit. in any case, at least i get to do one of the hobbies i love the most so it's all a win for me and i just make room for it if life doesn't get in the way, unless of course i could use it and make it my official source of making a living lol...

and when you mentioned that "The flatness of the figures are poster-like, existing on their own without interacting with the atmosphere, which made it sharp-edged and clean", that's what i wanted to accomplish and drawing it in pencil helped towards that goal. thank you very much though for that comment.

lol thank you so much Goblin for the nice words. yes i intended them to be in separate panels because it's easier for me to see the angles and it would cover everything that i want to cover if need be. and i agree with you on the placement of the dialogue balloons. that's why in one of the drawings (actually the most recent one), i did not even put a balloon in what Raina said... i just kind of wrote a text in there because i didn't want the balloon to get in the way of the other girl's thigh lol...

but thank you very much for that critique Mr. Goblin. it is really much appreciated. i will try to look at the things you have mentioned as far as the lightness of the images and see what i can do. for now, i thank you very much for taking a look at my work. catch ya around. stay safe and well.

Hello, Eves_Paradise...It's me again, haunting your screen--ha-ha!

I really don't mind giving comments/advice whenever I can and if the person is open to it. So no problem, no harm done or time wasted here, okay? I enjoyed assessing your work as much as I enjoyed reading your or anyone's replies.

The softness in the edges then in your art must be retained. And thank the gods, the error was in the downloading process and NOT the artwork. The graphic simplicity also must be continued as your definitive style, which recalls to mind minimal designs and artworks that are powerful yet delicate and elegant in their presentation. To do it frame by frame is not a bad idea--I do the same thing with my comics, which, like you, hopefully intend to send it to EROS, too.

Yet, competition is quite formidable, what with reputable European illustrators of erotica like Altuna, Serpieri, Manara, and Royo et al in their publication lists. Still, I'm a dreamer and I continue polishing my art while I write. To get paid by doing both will be more than just financial assurance but more of artistic acceptance for me--something I've dreamt of doing and achieving early on.

So, keep at it and never give up--a lot of good and talented artists I've seen and appreciated their woks are women, each with their own distinct style that is neither soft nor derivative but wholly their own.

All the best of luck, as always!

hey Goblin,

thank you for the reply! sorry for the late reply but as always life has gotten in the way lol.

i wholeheartedly agree with you on this. And thank you by the way for the recommendation. i haven't exactly tried blogger.com, but if it would help me fulfill one of my goals, that would be awesome lol.

As for collaboration, that would be an awesome thing to do. But, as you know, more often than not life does get in my way, and to be honest I don't know if I would be the most dependable partner in any collaboration lol. Like now, I've taken some time to respond to your messages to me because of demands from my day personal and professional life lol. what my plans are to try this thing out, see if it takes off, and we'll see it from there. anyway, it would all depend whether i am successful on this or not. right now drawing erotic and provocative art is a hobby for me and a form of escapism for me... until a time comes could make something out of my work and would call a higher level of commitment of dedication because the incentive is there which is higher than what i presently have, then i will do it.

but i do enjoy what i do, and hopefully i could start this and take off. in the meantime, as always, thank you for the kind and wonderful words. i will be sure to check on here every so often and i will be looking out for you and perhaps exchange some thoughts, suggestions, etc.

thank you and your input is much appreciated.

ps. by the way i just checked out blogger.com... i don't think my work would pass through there, although they do allow adult content, but they don't allow all sorts lol... thanks though.

Hey, no problem, Eves...
I am just maximizing my time too, popping here, there, and anytime I can. As you know, I do write too, and drawing takes a backseat each time. As always, wherever, whenever I shift, the feeling is so exhilarating--and I love it!

All the best of luck, as always!

hope to catch ya around.
