Erotic Photographs

I have learned that the best thing is a digital camera.. have a girlfriend or partner take them and then you can print from your PC if you want actual photos

There are always photographers advertising for models, mostly they're just itching to see chicks naked. But take someone with you and it should be safe. Quality not garunteed. I'd offer my services, but I don't have the lighting or sets that I need.

A digi cam with a timer would ensure that you could take them by yourself. I like privacy when I take personal photos. I also know how I want my body presented as opposed to how a photographer would do so.

Now, about erotic photos.

Bratcat?

That av.....

well, if it is attention you are looking for, it certainly got my attention. I have had a burning question since I first saw it.

Is the person attached to that ass alive?

It makes one wonder. :)

i have always wanted to get professional ones done for my s.o but i have no clue what to look for in the phone book and how much it would run me.

Important: After taking pictures of yourself DO NOT BECOME A SENATOR!
You obviously know nothing about the Canadian Senate. But then neither does anyone else.

Stop following me around, or at least walk in front of me so I can look at your butt.

I'm not following you, and being Irish, I haven't got enough butt to mention.

There are a lot of photographers that are doing "Boudoir Photography" these days - pics of women in lovely lingerie for their SOs....

I don't know if they'd do semi or full nude....I think you'll have to ask. But try those advertising boudoir photos....and, of course, you should meet with the photographer to establish a comfort level BEFORE the day of the shoot.....

Good luck,

Nigel

best post read all day

Most of mine have been done with a web cam, yet I'm hoping one day to have a digital camera and some one else to take them so that I am free to pose the way I want. However having a boyfriend makes getting these pictures done difficult, they can not show my face. We have spoken about my pictures on here and he agrees with me the face should not be seen, there can be other shots for that alone. I do not want some of these pictures to come back and haunt me one day out of the blue, so I have decided to not have my face seen, body parts are fine though.

Uh Yep.

Bingo, baby...does the name KR mean anything to you?

Please refrain from using that name in my presence again...thank you.

;):p

LMAO...my pleasure. It is just that that name is a constant reminder to me on behaving in a smart manner, not a stupid one. :)

Then these pictures that you want Juspar to take for you are of your body and not your face?

I think I would like some of myself. What kinds are the best to take? Poses, etc? Have you ever had professional ones done or have you ever taken any? Where do you get them developed?

Hi *bratcat*,

Here's a place you could start with in looking for a professional:

http://www.ppa.com/

It's the Professional Photographers of America website. They have search capability that locates member photographers.

Some quick tips:

1. A pro should *look* like a pro, i.e. He or she should have a going business, with all the accoutrements. Studio, advertising, a portfolio you can look through, references, etc. If they can't provide verifiable references, walk away. And, of course, make damn sure you verify the references.

2. You might start first by discussing the fact that you're looking for portraits, not specifically boudoir or nude portraits. That way no one is initially tempted to represent as something they are not. If you feel comfortable in talking with a given pro, then you can always bring up that you're looking for some more 'intimate' shots. They'll either tell you they don't do them and possibly refer you to another pro they trust, or they'll discuss them with you and you'll have found your phtographer.

3. A pro should have absolutely no problem with you bringing along another person as a "monitor" or "safety".

4. NEVER sign a model release if these are for your use alone (an ethical pro won't even ask you to).

Also, you might consider a "serious amateur/semi-pro." Here, however, you're going to have more trouble in determining a good, safe one. Again, you might start with a discussion of just standard portraiture. Check your telephone book for a local Photo Society or club, as a possible first source. Just take things really slow and you should be OK. Apply the same criteria as for a pro regarding a "safety person" and the like. Ask to see representative shots, etc, etc.

If you want to make your own shots, on film, there are a lot of "confidential developers" out there. Search the web under that phrase and you'll find them.

If you choose to go digital, remember that getting a shot suitable for "pro photo quality" enlargement to 8x10 inches or larger requires a digital having at least 3.3 megapixel capability (I'd recommend no less than 5 megapixel). This is not your typical "affordable consumer digital," but rather a camera in the $800 and up range.

If you have more questions, feel free to PM or email me. I'm a member of a loose affiliation of Olympus camera fans, and we have a number of pros in our group. I can refer you to them for other questions that I can't answer or ask them myself and pass their answers on to you.

Finally, as a "serious amateur," shooting for 22 years now, I've recently offered to do these sorts of shots for friends--at no charge for the session, only for materials--as it's an aspect of my photography with which I have no practical experience as of yet. No takers so far, but I'm in no hurry in that regard. Serious portrait work--especially nudes--is a very demanding undertaking. Almost nothing is harder to photograph tastefully and well, IMHO.

She'll probably be mad for me saying this, but do you know that the lovely and talented Morgaine has an interest in photography? Perhaps she could help.

Were I not 3000+ miles on the other side of the continent I would gladly offer my assistance. . .
