I remember reading some Clive Barker stories, years ago, that were erotic -- maybe only 3% erotic compared to 97% horrific, but so be it. One story was about a woman who comes back from the dead to finish giving this guy a blow job. I can't remember the other story, except that it involved a pair of eyes peeking out from inside a woman's pussy. (What a cliche.)

Two stories as of the time I posted this. I read both, and no offense to the writers, but I'm not yet impressed. Will Laurel being pulling some of the non-human or Sci-Fi/Fantasy stories over if they fit that category better, or leaving them where they are?

I keep thinking of this short story I had to read in college "The Bloody Chamber"
and I'm remembering how erotic it was and how much I loved it. Now, I'm usually a chicken shit when it comes to horror movies or novels, but this story was amazing because the erotic undertone of the whole thing...it made what would have normally been completely terrifying to me, tantalizing.

I'll have to see if I can find it.

I like horror books more than horror movies, so it might be interesting.

However, if it denegrates into simply one snuff story after another, it will be too disgusting to even consider. There are already far too many sites on the 'net with stories of a mysoginistic twist in them. Why bring it here?

I hope plain ol' snuff will go straight to Extreme where it belongs...but horror is best when subtle, IMO. For instance, the original Dracula is a wonderful example of erotic horror. I don't like slasher flicks, but I love Victorian vampires--all that repressed sexuality and blood symbolism. ;-)

I have a multi-chapter story posted last year that might fit into this category, point of fact--it involves undead and a contract with the devil. Some blood and gore, but not to excess, at least in my opinion. I wonder if I should ask to have it recategorized.

I remember reading one like that in a Reader's Choice thing - it surprised me to find it there, coz it wasn't very sexy, and the whole thing about a man killing his wife for cheating on him, sort of made me label it "snuff".

I like horror movies better than books. When the movie gets too scary, you can close your eyes until the moment has passed. With abook, you have to keep atleast one eye open as you flip through the pages to a chapter where the sun shines again.

I'm glad to see more categories. There are so many dissimilar stories lumped together now in many categories.

I like to think that I'm pretty open minded about things. Can someone post a link to what they think is a "good" short erotic horror story? I just can't imagine being aroused while horrified. But I'm willing to learn!!

Yick. I have to agree. I remember reading a review of a Japanese movie that involved nonstop violent rapes, mutilations and killings of women. This wasn't something out on the edge, either--there is a whole genre in Japan of this kind of thing. They are called "rape movies", straightforwardly enough, and provoke little outrage in Japan. Hell, many of their comic books have the same kind of stories. They don't translate those ones for the US market, though! I can't get my head around those. I am not going to tell people who like it that they are sickos, because I don't know zip about the genuine contents of their heads, but I have no reason at all to read stuff like that.

IMO, good "horror" is a story that uses basic fears and anticipatory dread to evoke an emotional response in the reader. A good horror writer can play you like a violin and leave you wrung out. Splatter takes no skill. It ruins the effect--I'm sorry, outright nausea kind of short-circuits my thinking processes. I have no need to prove how strong my stomach is. I'll be bigoted and call it an adolescent male macho thing. But how many slasher movie fans could clean up an explosively dirty diaper without gagging? ;-)

I squint both eyes so they're almost shut, and I hum loudly while I read the scary parts. Works for me.

News on my bid for erotic horror fame.

My second story "White Scut" was rejected but I didn't expect the reason. I was a few words too short of the 750 minimum. It is "Furry Erotic Horror". Now if I rewrite it with a marmot hero?

My first story "Donna" is now registering 3.00. Shame. I wanted a host of 1 votes.

I have just submitted my third story "Loving Hannah". I hope this time I can show that Erotic Horror need not be disgusting or offensive. The sequel has been started already.

I still want to see a DG story in this category.
