The reason that breathplay of the choking variety gets some of us riled up is because it's so damned impossible to mitigate the risks and monitor what you're doing.
People do not just go out all nice and clean in a cinematic fashion. You can be blowing along, thinking you're rocking the kink and not even realize that you've put somebody under or into a danger zone until they suddenly start thrashing around, eyes wide open, face stretched in a rictus grin.
So we like to take our risks, cool. I'm all for that, and I'd be a hypocrite for telling anybody otherwise with my history.
But where I look at my risk assessment here is that as a dom engaging in this activity, I could kill somebody I care about. As a pyl, what strikes me about this is not that you're risking your own life- it's yours to risk. But you're risking the future freedom and conscience of your PYL to boot.
