that it was ruined within the first 5 minutes.

no spoilers for those out of the time zone.

I am not watching, sorry.

I would be, but I don't know what channel or what time here. I am TV impaired.

Still waiting for it to air over here myself. Looks like it'll try something different, which is usualy good. But I'll wait till it actualy airs before really saying much on it.

thats why i tried to putthe shout out on no spoilers.

once people see it that are true trekheads will know what I am saying and will be able to say yes or no without spoiling it

I dug it too. Best treck since the original series, perhaps. It's too early to judge it yet, but the first ep was promising.

guess I am the only one that had a problem with the visage/visual appearance of the pre Kirk Klingons

:(

I read in an interview that Rodenberry allways wanted them to look like that, he just could not do it when the first series was made. I dont think they will ever explain why they looked human for a while. remember when Worf went back in time on DS9 and said we dont like to talk aout it when asked why Klingons looked the way they did.

Personally i think it has to do with the tribbles and Genetic contamination.

Me thinks that would be a 'yes'

I read that and saw that interview where he said that

I read somewhere i thought it was a trek book that it was a a result of genetic warfare/contamination.

I would of been happier if they remained true to form though. I know he wanted them in the new startrek look but he got them with the mongul look. to be true to the time line i feel it would have been better to have them in the mongul form.

Now instead of ahaving to just explain one series of mutations there are two to account for now. skull klingon to mongul klingon and mogul klingon to skull klingon.

Not really...
Have them conatminated for a while and over the years their genes fight back and restore them. It could happen in a generation. Kang looked like amongul and then normal on DS9.

In Star Trek the motion picture the ridges were there just not as pronounced.

I think it has more to do with budgets and advances in effects. I don't worry about that. The look of the show has changed drastically since the original series (still my favorite).

I enjoyed it a lot. I thought most of the characters have good potential.
