A 1-year-old girl was shot dead in her babysitter's arms in New Orleans, prompting the city's mayor to declare "enough is enough" as police hunted for two suspects with little help from witnesses.

Londyn Samuels, who was just learning to walk, was struck by a bullet fired into her 18-year-old nanny's back as she carried the toddler home from the park.

"What kind of a man would shoot at a woman holding a child?" Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said Friday as he pleaded for witnesses to the Thursday night slaying to come forward. "That's not the kind of person you want to protect."

An 11-year-old New Orleans girl rocking her baby cousin to sleep was killed in a triple shooting Monday — while the city was still reeling from the murder of a 1-year-old gunned down in her babysitter's arms four days earlier.

In the latest violence, gunmen started shooting into a home where at least four young children were in bed shortly after midnight, firing more than a dozen bullets, police said.

One 11-year-old, identified by local NBC affiliate WDSU as Arabian Gayles, was struck in the head and died at the hospital five hours later. A relative said she was cradling a 1-year-old when she was shot.

Yep a child in a stroller was shot in the face in Atlanta.

Officials in the city pleaded for any witnesses to come forward with any information related to either crime as they failed to turn up suspects.

Suspected gunman in death of New Orleans 1-year-old Londyn Samuels arrested

A second suspect — this time, the alleged gunman — was arrested Thursday in the shooting death of 1-year-old Londyn Samuels, one of two New Orleans children whose killings in the last week have shocked residents.

SWAT officers and U.S. marshals arrested Darnell Ramee, 19, shortly before 6 p.m. (7 p.m. ET) at a home near the Fair Grounds Race Course, the site of the 119-year-old Louisiana Derby.
