English is my second language and Im dyslectic, so needed Ai to spell check but my story got rejeceted, what do I do now?

Hi guys, first time writer from sweden here. Im writing a 4 part saga about emma a 23yo counslor on a summer camp who goes from being a neerdy and shy girl to crossing all the lines when she end up in a tent with two 18yo virgin campers on a stormy night…

I myself think the story is reall really good, I have spent over 2 months om this story, countless hours…. But spelling and sentence building is not my strong suit so have used grok (ai) at several ocations to help me with spell checks

So now my story got rejected for ai, and frankly got a bit sad since I have spent so muvh time on this story and I cant even upload it..

Sorry if this have been asked befote, but if someone could help me, would mean a lot. What can I do here? All or any help would be much apprecited.

Do you have a version of your completed story from before you requested writing assistance from AI, or were you requesting assistance the whole time during the composition/writing phase?

I have a very very rough draft somewhere, but I have been using ai for spelling and sentence building kind of constatly throughout when I have been writing, for sure been doing more than 10 spell chevk, re writing it, spell checking it, rewriting it…

That's unfortunate. We speculate that a lot of AI assistance like that leaves traces, which triggers some sort of a detector.

Your best chance is to go back to your roughest draft, and see if you can find an editor. It's a big ask though, if you've already got four parts - how many words in total?

@Bucketlifter Just to be clear, while we don't know what triggers the AI detector, surely it isn't correct spelling. Spell check all you want.

The rejection note from Laurel says: "If you are using a grammar check program to review your work so that you can make changes (as a spellcheck, to flag punctuation, review grammar, and/or occasionally as a thesaurus), that should be fine."

So, you can use AI to check your work with the right prompt. Don't let the AI generate text. Instead, have it read your work and flag sentences that need work. Have it explain what's wrong, but you decide how to fix it and you write the words to fix that sentence. This is 100% within the rules, and it will also improve your English.

Finally, the AI detector makes mistakes. If you are flagged again for AI when you can honestly say that you've written every word yourself, I'd just send a polite note to Laurel that you didn't use AI. If you want, you could keep versions (or use a system like Google Docs that keeps versions) to show her.
