Psst, I hope you've given him the rule manual.
Have you given him the red pen, official badge and the tricky question you should never answer handbook? :p

Welcome Anthony, keep your hands inside the carriage at all time, put on your thinking cap and enjoy the ride; it's gonna be a bumpy one I'm sure. :D

I thought it more appropriate that you handle the honors. I'm merely forcing him to translate the collected works of Shakespeare into pig Latin, and to write a 500 word essay explaining why old Will couldn't spelle hisse owne name. :)

Hope you're feeling better.

Editing requests seem to be a bit on the low side right now. I've recieved three editing requests, but only one has sent me a story to edit. And that's only from the end of March to date. The other two haven't. One of those two sent a request through the Literotica Editing Request forms, and I replied promptly to him, but haven't heard back since. That was two weeks ago, almost. The second person has only PMed me, and hasn't taken the official route to contact me. I always tell people, contact me through the official means provided by Literotica. Maybe, LadyCibelle, you could be so kind as to provide a link to the Volunteer Editor list/request forms.

I got my first editing job by reading a story, then sending feedback to the author saying that he needed an editor and that I was offering to help. That's how I am now editing the Festishes' story series.

I'm inundated with requests right now and have had to disable my profile for the time being to get the work done. It's not because I'm an ace editor and they're all flocking to my door, it's because I know how to bring my VE profile to the top of the list.

Now and then I disable the profile or change a comma or two here and there, bringing it to the top of the list each time I save it. I've found that's one way to bring on the customers if the flow has reduced to a drizzle.

Just like Whitewave, I'm also inundated with requests. So much so that I have to turn down people. Funnily enough, my profile is down, down, down, the list but still I receive 5-6 requests/week. It's true that I've been at it for a while and writers pass me along to their friends but still.....

Blaster, if you don't receive requests, maybe it's time for you to take a look at your editor profile and see what could put people off of asking you, maybe?

Yeah, I could...but it would necessitate people reading the stickies, where all the information is and, unfortunately, I still don't have the power to force people to read aforementioned stickies.

Ah, okay. So, if people don't read the stickies, then they don't see the link to the Editors list. Got it.

And about the request flow, I just got another one, which brings me to three authors that I am editing for. I don't really mind about the low amount of requests that I am getting, because it allows me to get used to editing. I kinda prefer the slow pace right now. If you're getting buried in requests for editing, then more power to you.

I had a look at your editor's profile, babe. If you really want to branch out further than Mind Control and Sci/Fi & Fantasy you should include any other potential categories. I'd bet that's one reason why you haven't gotten many requests. I think most people will use the search feature to find someone who'll edit the category they write in and that means your profile won't come up for most people.

Those are just the two main genres that I will deal with. I am editing a Nonhuman series, and a fan-fiction series. Mind Control and Sci-Fi/Fanatsy are my favorite genres to read in, but I will consider other genres too.

Welcome back, Anthony,:)

It's good to see an old face from time before.:D

The old find an editor list is irredeemably broken and not salvageable.

If you're still free to edit I'd recommend saying hello into the Available to edit ~~ December 2013 thread.

Every month the thread gets refreshed by either me or MistressLynn. It's the best way to make sure people who need help can find it "easily".

In your "hello" post, you can explain what you're willing to do and what you won't. The same goes for your turnaround time and/or any issues or information you feel is important.

And, last but not least.

Please ensure you have switched on your Private Messages. Go to User CP (top left of this page), click on Edit Options (in the left hand column), and then tick Enable Private Messaging in the second box down. Make sure that the next box down (Receive Private Messages only from Buddies and Moderators) is NOT ticked. Finally click Save Changes at the bottom of that page.

So, once again welcome back and jump in.:p
