I just watched Slave Girls From Beyond Infinity (1987).

It rang comedic and there looked to be much gratuitous nudity. Naturally I thought of @hotwords229_A.

Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be a rendering of the short story, The Most Dangerous Game (1924)!

It was a hoot.

I think they work in the sense that they shock you out of your “thing”—horniness, drunkenness, etc.
But it’s kind of like if your foot hurts so you smash your hand, now you’re not thinking about your foot.
