Endless Ends

Honestly, Sunny. If I can make a reservation that doesn't get broken I might even consider wearing that thing!

Two years, now. TWO YEARS. That I've had to cancel, or had canceled, reservations.

I am desperate. :p

Errr.

There are a lot of caveats to me wearing that. I mean, you know, on the off chance I actually get to NOLA.

(Where is my embarrassed emoji? I cannot function without my EMBARRASSED EMOJI. 😮)
Plus a pain in the neck taking that top on and off for beards

So... New Orleans bound with a mega tease cheer outfit no less. Yeah, I 'spect that would be a break Lit pic post. 😉

It's been years since I've been to New Orleans but people I know there and who visit often say it's not the same. All of the neighborhoods have become largely gentrified and so many outsiders moved in that the whole feels different.

But I'd be game to do the Bourbon St walk with you, I imagine it's still seedier and smells more of urine the further down it you walk. lol...

You don’t have to do pic snip anymore; it will automatically be mostly hidden
Good to know. And nice not to have to do.

* * *

I started yoga today.

Egad.

It's a-maz-ing just how out of shape one person can get. 😂

However, after a good long look at myself in the mirror, only death will de-rail me from this getting back in shape path.

I am resolved.

For now. :p

It has changed. Muchly over the last 20 years or so. I can't say as to the outsiders, but the gentrification is true. Most of which I don't mind. Much has been done with an eye to authenticity, though not, of course, all.

Bourbon street is a little different as well. Still seedy, but not as seedy, or with quite the flavor of the past. It still ends abruptly, which has always struck me as one of it's peculiar oddities.

Still, it holds its charm. I managed to visit about four years ago, and it still sings. There are things I ritually do every trip. Bourbon street, of course. A graveyard or architectural tour. A visit to Jackson Square, with it's salty air, shops, and musicians. There was a fiddler there last time that played haunting music that melded with the atmosphere of the city.

I'm not much of a nightlife person, but there, I'm all about the nightlife! Wandering the streets and open bars and restaurants and dancing through the square. The city breathes at night. You can feel its pulse through the flagstones.

And always, always a list to The Court of Two Sisters. Lovely food and the most romantic restaurant in the world.

I might live there one day.

Or maybe in the next life.

Huh. For some reason I though Ricky Nelson was an actor, not a musician.

In the 50s. 😂

How fortunate I don't have a beard. :p
I think he was an actor too. A sitcom with his parents? Ozzie and Harriet maybe? I think he was also in a western with John Wayne—or maybe that was someone else. If only there was somewhere to find this info!

Also, the three vertical dots at the top of your post opens a little thing for emojis (Then scroll down).

I really want to like yoga. I need to give it a other go.

The first two of his 20+ albums . . . Also in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame . . . as an early rock 'n roll fan, another piece of trivia: "From 1957 to 1962, Nelson had 30 Top-40 hits, more than any other artist except Presley (who had 53) and Pat Boone (38)."

This took me back to an old video I got my hands on called Nude Tai Chi.

Needless to say I never learned Tai Chi, in fact I rarely made it past the cover art, but it did help me burn A LOT of calories. 😎

I found the emojis. It's the lack of my some of my favorites!

-shocked face
-embarrassed face
-confused face

How am I supposed to articulate my emotional responses?

HOW

(Also, I hadn't quite realized quite how much I use those little things! 😳)

Now you are just underscoring my ignorance. :p

It's more intense than I'd realized, I'm going to guess it's like any exercise program and only gets more comfortable after a lot of learning the routines and getting fitter. I don't see it being my thing.

I tried it many times and simply did not see the appeal. Not my type of exercise. I like heavy cardio.

Once I got a little older and realized the benefit of the stretch, I worked a few classes into my routine here and there. Still, meh, but good for maintenance.

About five years ago I agreed to do a 30 day challenge and started Yoga With Tim. Hooked! He moves through the poses very slowly, is super relaxed and I find his voice incredibly soothing. I stuck with the 30 days, and about 3 weeks in noticed crazy changes. Like, I have a tight sacral area and it completely relaxed. Other stuff as well, but I see no reason to bore with my body annoyances. :p

Strength and balance both saw measurable improvement, as well. Nice thing about yoga, too, is that it's hard to hurt yourself. (And let me just say that I am adept at hurting myself. 😂)

A friend of mine LOVES Tara Stiles. She's fabulous, and has some great beginner videos up, but she moves from position to position too fast. I need a slower flow.

Anyhoo. :p

My whole winding point is that I rather think for many people it's a matter of having the right teacher.

So what I'm hearing here is that you are totally down (down dog :p) for naked yoga.

Maybe you and NRJ should do a video?

I suspect there are Listers who would pay.

We can start a list.

:p

I totally need to get back to it. I always felt amazing when I did it.

I was super into DDP Yoga a couple years ago or so. It has a lot of the same ideas as yoga but it incorporates stuff like dynamic resistance punches and push-ups. I gotta start doing it more.

Also, hi Enny! :D
Booo!!

How ya been?

Should I feel insulted that my heart is black? :p

WAIT.

How are you using the old Lit grinning face?!

HOOOOOOOOW
