Neither of the series I’ve read have been gory. Nor violent. Sure, in the Scottish ones there’s dead people, but he’s a homicide detective. Not nearly as descriptive on the gore stuff as some writers can get. That detective in particular doesn’t like bodies of blood.

The author is funny because there’s always a tidbit in the books about the silliness of
Murder mysteries/detective novels.

I liked that one slightly more than the DI Buchan series (on book 3 now), but it’s a negligible difference.

Speaking of, today I renew my workout regimen.

I plan to do something sexy for Halloween and need to be in excellent shape for costumes.

Considering my little twenty minute jump on the treadmill the other day left me with sore gluts I fear this may be a long and arduous road.

I have to say, I am really out of shape. Like, criminally.

I'm shifting my routine to thirty days of yoga and the treadmill, before I hit the weights. For my own safety.

Birthday month is off to a slow start, but I did have my first celebratory lunch today at the Thai place I like with the cute little robot cat that delivers your food. So cute!

I had a lychee martini.

Also, shopping for girly pharmaceuticals.

I remember little except the monster sucked the bones out of its victims, leaving the body, errr, sack(?) empty. As I recall, the action was set in a city and the monster looked sort of like a vacuum cleaner.
