Endless Ends

We are supposed to be in the middle of a drought, yet the best part of the last three days it's rained cats and dogs. Plus hail.

It had best not wash away all my dirt. 🤨

Travails of the day:

-Found a tarantula the size of my fist.
-Argued with two Mediterranean geckos.
-Was ambuscaded by a flight of barn swallows.

It's been a creature feature kind of day.

Well if you are considering any of those critters as pets, you should know:

Tarantulas can be good pets for some, particularly those who enjoy observing them and appreciating their unique beauty, but they are not suitable for everyone. They are low-maintenance and fascinating to watch, but they are not interactive or cuddly pets and can bite if provoked. . . . All species of tarantula bite. However, they do not like to bite people. It cannot be stressed enough that tarantulas will only bite a person as a very last resort.

Mediterranean geckos are an excellent choice for first-time reptile owners due to their low-maintenance nature and hardiness. Here are some compelling reasons to consider them as pets: Small Size and Space Efficiency: Their compact size makes them suitable for small enclosures, ideal for those with limited space . . . A single Mediterranean House Gecko can thrive in a 10-gallon tank, but a 20-gallon long tank is recommended for multiple geckos or to provide more enrichment. Tank Dimensions: A 20-gallon long tank (30ā€ x 12ā€ x 12ā€) is ideal, as it provides ample space for climbing and exploration.

Although barn swallows eat massive quantities of pesky insects, they tend to become the larger pests by building their mud nests on manmade structures. Swallows can damage property and their droppings cause sanitation and health concerns, requiring expensive and time-consuming clean-up and repair.

I had no idea there'd been a squabble about who invented calculus between Newton and Liebniz. Complete with a book of letters compiled by Newton, purporting to settle the matter of who came up with the concept first.

Newton even wrote a review.

Of his own book. :p

Here I thought only biological science academics got all petty and full of ego.

The things one learns on the internet.

I am, however, going to order sand. :p
So now I can tell you to ā€œgo pound sandā€ and it can have a literal reference? That’s awesome.

There are no egos more fragile than the great scientific ones.

Drat! Tonight was a frenzy of finding documents. I just realized it was the last day to challenge my agricultural taxes!!!

I'd meant to do it sometime over the last several days.

But was too busy with my emotional meltdown.

I'm always all about the practical choice. :p

I had to google.

I was expecting a euphemism.

Imagine my surprise when it merely rude! 🤣

This city girl was surprised you didn’t know that phrase. And shocked there’s something called agricultural taxes šŸ˜‚

Oh, my ignorance occasionally extends past all things sexual. :p

Only if you have an agricultural exemption.

The best part is that after all that scrambling to find all the paper work and searching surrounding properties on CAD, I realized I didn't need to challenge.

ā€œFlounceā€ comes to mind more than ā€œflumpā€ when thinking of you having a tiny huff.

Flounce is when she’s happily proved her point. Like a mic drop.

Flump is like a combination of facepalm and fall over in resignation or exasperation.

At least that’s how my Enny translator works šŸ˜‚

@LadyLascivious1 gets me. :D

Hmmmm.

I am now wondering if I should append a glossary in my profile. šŸ¤”

In the last few days:

-girded big girl loins
-emotional meltdown
-frantic agricultural deadline
-saved from agricultural tax crises
-EPIC emotional breakthrough
-significant change in a relationship

Bit of a roller coaster but I am in a surprisingly good mood. So much so, that I bought myself a new card case.

Okay. Two card cases.

Okay. And a casual purse. 🤣

Like business card cases? Or more like…Magic the Gathering or PokĆ©mon card cases?šŸ¤”

Somehow neither of those seem like Enny things šŸ˜‚

It’s a huge thing! It may have changed but when I was an undergrad, physicists still used Newton’s notations in a lot of situations even though Leibniz’s are generally clearer and better.

I have my own Magic the Gathering deck, I'll have you know. And, I've bought a couple of Pokemon card cases.

Okay, so I have a deck, but have never actually learned to play. And it is possible the Pokemon card cases were not for me.

Somehow neither of those seem like Enny things šŸ˜‚
*flips hair*

Like business card cases?
Yes. I like to use one as mini wallet for errands and shopping. Just big enough for driver's license and a few other cards.

My preference is sleek and magnetic closures, though this little number by Kate Spade amused me the other day. I am always mislaying things. This, I would not lose. :p
