Endless Ends

Query . . . why are you listening to a song about a cocaine addiction? That's not in your horoscope for this full moon !
I just came on the station randomly. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I was driving.

Note to Self: Do not listen to drug songs during the Strawberry Moon. 😝

You need to concentrate on those C&W stations down there . . . for those classic tunes that have lyrics like:

"My wife ran away with my best friend . . . and I miss him."

"I'll be under the table by the time I get over you."

"How can I miss you if you won't go away?"

That would imply I listen to country music. Which...I do not. :p

Omg.

Dying.

🤣

Of course they are !! My years in Texas were not wasted . . . and I left out a few other favorites.

You bet my old Luccchese dress boots ! I know, it's a shock, but we all have pasts . . . dwell on it overnight . . . we can discuss it later.

All this time you've been posting in the thread, and you have never mentioned living in Texas.

Or having a perverted taste for country music. :p

I was born here, and I don't own a pair of cowboys boots. 😂

Never picked up the accent . . . you know, when you can say "two oil", "tall oil", and "tallow" and one can't tell the difference. :D

Are you telling me you don't know how to two-step?

I used to jog along the Bayou from downtown out and back early in the morning before work. Were you the girl in the tights that would jog by me without smiling? Probably someone from The Heights . . .

Houston is awesome. I'm further north but I would totally love to live downtown.

What part of Texas?? Split here between Paris and Terlingua.

I've run that route, but not often. Bikes, and dogs, and secluded areas, oh my! The treadmill has benefits. 😂

White Oak Bayou Trail was where I most of my MS150 training. Thirty-five mile round trip.

Those Height's girls. :p

As someone who works from home (and as little as possible :p) I am the go-to for family stuff and often find myself on elder or child care duty, when those situations arise.

Gotta say, managing to clip a 4-year old in a car seat while straddling the console between the front seats requires dexterity, limberness, and a certain dogged determination.

Why was I doing this the hard way? Flash rain storm caught us unprepared.

Parents deserve more appreciation.

All I'm sayin'

*thunk*

For 30 years I was my kids’ mom. And now I’m doing the same with 2 grandkids. At some point I’ll get a break… maybe… or just keep doing this until I die.

Pro tip.

If you remove a six month accumulation of dead raisins from the car seat before attempting to fit the child in it, the child generally fits better. So I'm told.

Noted.

Do you have any advice for a no-fear child? A new variety in my experience.

Today I was presented with a baby rat snake to identify.

He. Had. It. By. The. Tail.

We’d just had a discussion on what copperheads look like and why we don’t touch. I guess this was an extension of the lesson.

I now have a vague idea how it might feel to enter cardiac arrest. *thunk*

His parents have aged visibly these last few years. I understand why.

I received a photo the other day (as one does. 😝)

It made me happy.

I couldn’t figure out why.

Don’t get me wrong! It was a great pic! Just not kittens or puppies or any of the usual items viewed as uplifting.

It puzzled, until I realized it was about the person who sent the photo and what they represent. Someone who enjoys their life and views it as an exciting adventure. Someone not afraid to reach for happiness.

Sometimes one needs a reminder.

Thank you picture sender. 😊

As a young boy, I used to carry garter snakes in my jeans pocket . . . until the day one got mad and bit me . . . no pain, but I quickly realized it was no longer the thing to do. When hunting quail in south Texas, I wore knee-high snake boots.

Since living in the mtns, I have dispatched a family of copperheads nesting under the back entrance concrete pad and one timber rattlesnake that hung around the house for two weeks.. I won't attempt to be friendly with the 5 ft king snake that keeps the mice and other copperheads away from the house now, but I thank him/her.

Embrace the good ones and stay away from the bad ones.
