Endless Ends

My grandmother used to have this fancy, stained-glass kaleidoscope. A delicate little thing made for her by an artisan friend. As a child I could play with that thing for hours at a time.

There was this one position it would fail into, where ruby-red glass dots lined up into the shape of a butterfly. So simple, yet so beautiful. Vibrant and full of life.

It reminds me a little of perception, and how much it colors reality. One can hold a situational view, for years sometimes, and then with one flick of the wrist an angle can change. Suddenly you find yourself seeing things at a 120 angle. Not quite a 180, but near enough where your whole world view flips on its head.

Life.

Such a weird little place sometimes. :p

My mind.

Such a weird little place sometimes. :p

Fixed your typo

only sometimes?

Geez. Two hours to Zero a mere 1 1/4 acres. So much rain lately has made stuff grow like HEK293s in a boosted growth medium.

I is…a tired ex-kitten. *yawns and stretches*

The rest of the property can run amok, but no way do I let the *yard* area around the house gate overgrown. Four identified types of snakes and counting.

(Also of note. Operation of a Zero mower is in no way impeded by broken toes. :p)

Yeah, I mowed 2 acres yesterday and decided to put off using the string trimmer for clean-up until today. I'd love it if my yard was flat and smooth enough for a z-turn mower.

Here's hoping the toes get better and one of these days tell me more about this ex-kitten thing. ;)

I cut my field yesterday too. It gets cut twice a year. Three hours with my tractor with the brush hog. I did it shirtless and got a lot of sun. I'm a little pink in certain places today

It seems to have been mow weekend!

I'm curious as to the manner of how your yard is un-flat? A ravine bi-sects part of my property, resulting in some dips and valleys that the Zero still manages, albeit slowly.

Eh. Somehow kittening tangled itself into my DD/lg. In abeyance these days, hence the ex. A permanent thing I would have said until this evening. While driving a tiny - so tiny! - white kitten dashed across the road, right in front of me! The kitten zigged. I zagged. I very nearly landed in a ditch and, I'm pretty sure, had a mild myocardial event. But the kitten was okay, which is what counts.

Anywho. That was a long-winded way to say I'm big on signs so I may revisit the kitten thing, just to ensure all is resolved.

TMI? No doubt, but it seems I am feeling chatty. :D

I think it must be my near death-by-kitten experience.

:p

No, really.

Shirtless? Admittedly you are not in the Texas sun, but I am still flabbergasted. When I mow I wear a long-sleeved sun shirt, complete with hood. Gloves. Long pants. And a hat. Fifteen minutes without and I would crisp like a potato chip.

I don't have your penchant for living dangerously. :D

(Seriously. I'm kinda shocked.)

He just wanted the ladies of Lit to imagine him shirtless

In other news, AC re-ducting is a go, Houston. I repeat, AC re-ducting is a go.

* * *

I am also quite unreasonably excited to be spending Halloween in New Orlean.

*bounces up and down*

I mean, you know, in an appropriately reserved kind of adult way.

*bounces more discreetly*

:p

Enny, it's possible the universe is reaching out and sending you a message . . . let's see . . . snakes, skunk, scorpion, tarantula . . . and now a cat/kitten crosses your path . . . could it be there's a solution to the critter problem somewhere in there? :)

An excellent solution!

Except.

I'm allergic. 😂
